This is the follow up to the 1969 Trans Am Barn Find Video. Here is the car after a cleanup and complete going through. I now drive the car as much as possible. UPDATE: The car has been sold and now lives with its new owner in the Midwest.
1969 Trans Am 1 owner barn find
I recently purchased this 1 owner 1969 Trans Am. It was parked in 1982 when
the owner was transferred out of state. It is a Ram Air III 4 speed car.
Other than some surface rust it really has no real rust to speak of.
UPDATE: The car has been sold and now lives with its new owner in the
Lot S124 1969 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III Auto
The 1969 Firebird had an identity all its own, especially when equipped
with the new Trans Am Performance and Appearance Package, which included
the Ram Air III 400ci HO engine. Finished only in Polar White with Blue
stripes and accents, the T/A employed a special Ram Air hood, sculpted air
extractor vents on the front fenders and an integrated rear spoiler. Of 697
Trans Ams built that year, only 114 of them came with the turbo 400 automatic. This award-winning '69 Ram
Air III automatic is the recipient of an eighteen month concours-quality
restoration, completed in spring 2005 by Aloha Automotive Services of Port
After painstaking surface preparation, the body was sprayed with four coats
of Cameo White paint followed by Tyrol Blue stripes and 4 coats of clear.
The resulting exterior fit and finish speak for themselves. All chrome was
treated to triple plating by AIH of Dubuque, Iowa, and all stainless trim
hand polished. The Rally II wheels were stripped and re-painted, and shod
with period correct Goodyears.
The rebuilt 400 HO engine has been refinished and detailed to factory
standards using only correctly date coded components. The engine
compartment retains its original steel hood and Ram Air pans, and the
detailed undercarriage is factory correct, including spiral shocks, a
replacement fuel tank, new stainless fuel/brake lines and full length
Gardner aluminized Exhaust.
The interior was renewed with new carpeting, upholstery and trim, and many
components reconditioned using products from Just Dashes and Legendary Auto
Interiors. Wiring harnesses were also replaced.
Since its restoration in 2004/2005 this car has been stored in an
environmentally controlled garage and transported in an enclosed trailer.
Original Barn find 1968 GT500 Shelby
This car is completely original down to the tires! This one of a kind find
has never been washed since resurfacing from an undisclosed location in
Georgia. This Shelby is a true barn find and yes, it does start and is
driven on and off it's enclosed trailer to various car shows. The seats
have been changed back to the original ones that came in the car along with
all the SHELBY letters that are missing. The car is a rare automatic.

1969 Firebird Trans Am
I wasn't expecting this guy to drive up as I was shooting other cars at
Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, but I'm glad he did, and I'm glad he
left the engine on long enough to capture that 303 Exhaust note.
This is the original Trans Am, before the second generation went all flaps
and vents and giant spoilers and shaker hoods and screaming chickens and
"Smokey and the Bandit".
White with blue stripes and blue interior. Pure and simple.
You can see more pictures of it on my Flickr page:

59 caddy barn find
sitting since 1972, theres more videos to come on this one, its neat to go
through these old barn finds and see what was intombed in the glove box and
trunk. Found a reciept for the repaint job, it was the $39 special but with
the extras those paint crooks at earl schieb gouged these people for $101.
But I guess if you drive a Caddy, you can afford to blow $100 on a paint
job, must be nice???
