1967 Dodge Coronet 440 Muscle Car - Pro Street or Drag
I thought you'd like a look at this 1967 Dodge Coronet 440. This beast is street legal, but also ready to run at the track. It has the big 440 V8 with about 5000 miles on rebuild. It's topped with a 850 Demon Carb on an aluminum intake and backed by a 727 Torqueflite automatic with a Cheetah valve body. All the power is funneled to an 8 3/4" rear end with 4:10 gears. It has nice looking black berry paint and black vinyl interior. Options include AM/FM radio, power steering, seat belts, racing slicks with Weld racing wheels. Inside, you'll also find a roll cage and racing seats with 5 point harnesses. The fuel cell and the battery are both located in the trunk as well. I thought you'd like a look at this nicely restored 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible. It's powered by the big 383 V8 running through an extremely durable 727 torqueflite automatic transmission. The paint is slick, it's well detailed under the hood, and the interior looks almost showroom new. It's just a sharp looking car all the way around. This Road Runner's complete rotisserie restoration began when Steve Koepke of Classic Ventures in Woodstock, Illinois meticulously stripped its solid original body, welded up a set of high quality quarters and block sanded every one of its facets until he had a smooth, consistent canvas. Once that canvas was fully prepped from top to bottom, a slick coat of Charcoal Gray urethane was expertly applied under bright red, horizontal pin stripes and buffed to the kind of brilliant wet-look shine that can only be achieved with today's advanced paint technology. The result is one super slick Mopar muscle car which wraps brutal performance in killer good looks! Raise the wide, Charcoal hood and you'll find a killer 500 cubic inch monster block which takes this Mopar from 'very appealing' to 'MUST HAVE'. At the top of that engine, a simple chrome breather funnels wind from a re-usable filter element to a giant Demon 850 carburetor that's juiced by fresh stainless fuel lines. At the base of that carburetor, an Indy dual plane intake sends a rich air/fuel mixture into aluminum Indy 440EZ-1 cylinder heads that are equipped with both Crane Cams hydraulic roller lifters and Harland Sharp roller rocker arms. Those heads are bolted to a familiar 440 block that's been bored 0.30 over and equipped with a complete Eagle stroker kit which includes an Eagle steel crank, Eagle H-beam connecting rods, SRP pistons with Speed Pro rings and Clevite bearings. The car's massive 11 to 1 compression is managed by a Competition hydraulic roller camshaft that's hooked to a Cloyes timing chain. And spent gases are efficiently expelled through a slick set of TTI ceramic coated long tube headers. Fire is supplied by an MSD Pro-billet distributor which shoots sparks through high performance Taylor plug wires. And cooling comes courtesy of a heavy duty aluminum radiator which sits in front of two quick spinning electric puller fans. Behind the big bore engine you'll find a slick shifting Centerforce hydraulic clutch that's connected to a Tremec 5-speed transmission and a stalwart Ford nine inch limited slip rear end which is complete with a Strange aluminum center section, Strange axle shafts and new 3.73 gears. Naturally, the car's old-school front torsion bar and rear leaf spring suspension has been exchanged for a more competent independent front, four link rear set up. And that new suspension is augmented with tubular control arms, a thick front sway bar, adjustable QA1 coil over shocks, fresh power rack and pinion steering and a Wilwood brake system which includes 11 inch slotted discs at all four corners. At the center of the car, custom fabricated, and custom welded, subframe connectors ensure the buff engine's ample torque doesn't manifest itself as unfortunate twist. And at the corners of the car, power flows through a sweet set of 18 inch, solid aluminum wheels that are wrapped in aggressive 245/40 front and 285/40 rear BF Goodrich G-Force T/A radials. Open this Plymouth's big, solid doors and sit down inside a cockpit where the timeless good looks of American muscle meld seamlessly with tasteful upgrades and modern conveniences. The custom leather and suede seats, which were supplied by Addison Auto Interiors of Addison, Illinois, are firm and feel much more upscale than traditional Mopar hardware. At the bottom of those seats, fresh Maroon carpet props a chrome Hurst shifter under a faux carbon fiber pistol grip handle. In front of the seats the car's pristine Maroon dash hangs a custom gauge panel, which is complete with stylish Auto Meter American Muscle gauges, beside a remote controlled Kenwood CD player and traditional buttons for the car's heat and air conditioning system. At the sides of the seats, custom Maroon and Black door panels hang pliable armrests between fresh stainless trim, new chrome window cranks and bright chrome door handles. So for 1926 the Maxwell was reworked and re-badged as the low-end Chrysler "52" model. In 1928, the "52" was once again redesigned to create the Chrysler-Plymouth Model Q. The "Chrysler" portion of the nameplate was dropped with the introduction of the Plymouth Model U in 1929. Great Depression, 1940s and 1950s While the original purpose of the Plymouth was to serve a lower-end marketing niche, during the Great Depression of the 1930s, the marque helped significantly in ensuring the survival of the Chrysler Corporation in a decade when many other car companies failed. Beginning in 1930, Plymouths were sold by all three Chrysler divisions (Chrysler, DeSoto, and Dodge). Plymouth sales were a bright spot during this dismal automotive period, and by 1931 Plymouth rose to the number three spot among all cars. In 1931 with the Model PA, the company introduced floating power and boasted, "The economy of a four; the smoothness of a six." In 1933 Chrysler decided to catch up with Ford and Chevrolet with respect to engine cylinder count. The 190 cu in version of Chrysler's flathead-6 engine was equipped with a downdraft carburetor and installed in the new 1933 Plymouth PC, introduced on 17 November 1932. However, Chrysler had reduced the PC's wheelbase from 112 in (284.5 cm) to 107 in (271.8 cm), and the car sold poorly. By April 1933, the Dodge division's Model DP chassis, with a 112 in (284.5 cm) wheelbase, was put under the PC body with DP front fenders, hood, and radiator shell. The model designation was advanced to PD and the car was marketed as the "DeLuxe" 1933 Plymouth. This car sold very well and is the 1933 model most commonly found in collections. The PC became the 'Standard Six'. It had been the 'Plymouth Six' at introduction, and was sold through to the end of 1933, but in much lower numbers. It is consequently in the minority in collectors' hands today. In 1937, Plymouth (along with the other Chrysler makes) added safety features such as flat dash boards with recessed controls and the back of the front seat padded for the rear seat occupants. The PC was shipped overseas to Sweden, Denmark, and the UK, as well as Australia. In the UK it was sold as a 'Chrysler Kew', Kew Gardens being the location of the Chrysler factory outside London. The flathead 6 which started with the 1933 Model PC stayed in the Plymouth until the 1959 models. In 1939 Plymouth produced 417,528 vehicles, of which 5,967 were two-door convertible coupes with rumble seats. The 1939 convertible coupe was prominently featured at Chrysler's exhibit at the 1939 New York World's Fair, advertised as the first mass-production convertible with a power folding top. It featured a 201 cu in, 82 hp version of the flathead six engine. For much of its life, Plymouth was one of the top-selling American automobile brands; it together with Chevrolet and Ford were commonly referred to as the "low-priced three" marques in the American market...

1968 Plymouth Roadrunner
A 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. This car is owned by my dad Anthony Cmielewski from San Antonio Texas. He has owned this car for 25 years. His Roadrunner has won numerous awards in Texas including a 1st prize Peoples Choice Award. He is the second owner of this car. It was given to him by his older sister, my Aunt Rosa who bought it strait from the factory. It was originally factory Gold, including the interior.
