had a better time 12.81 at 107.17 vs 12.89 at 108.21), but because I
started late, it doesn't show that way. I have been running between 12.77
and 12.83 all day, him between 12.79 and 12.98... We had good races,
Mods SHO : Non-PP, Stage 4+ by Livernois, custom Exhaust, Airaid cold air intake, H&R springs.

stop light sleeper it always was. Those who remember the original may miss
its high revving Yamaha built engine and manual transmission. We think a
viable replacement for the SHO nameplate would be better served using the
current Fusion platform.
Ford Taurus 3.0L 12v Timing Cover Coolant Leak Repair
In this video I show how to remove the front cover on the 3.0L 12v Vulcan
engine. Coolant leak from the main coolant ports is very common on these.
This can be a very costly repair, with this video I am sure anyone with any
mechanical experience can handle this job with ease.
Tighten bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten numbers 1-7 to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Tighten numbers 8-12 to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

bad shape, very bumpy! The trap speed are slower by about 2mph because of
I started late R/T of .349 for SHO and .03 for the SS :
SHO = 12.74 at 108mph (intake, Exhaust, suspension and tune LMS stage 4+)
SS = 12.85 at 110mph (intake and tune)
We ran all day together and I was consistent with my 12,7's, but he ran
anywhere between 12.76 and 13.85, depending on his launch. On that race,
he had a good launch.... As for the SHO, it is AWD,so no excuses. : )

Well... i got to find out first hand, and you get to watch and enjoy!
if your about to do this job your self please watch and you will have a
good understanding of how to do it. or at least whats involved.
This was a weekend project and i thought i would document it for fun... and
to help others.
This would have cost me between $1200-$1600 as a local shop. depending on
where i took it.
i did this job my self for just over $200 including the fallowing:
head gasket kit
new head bolts
new coolant reservoir
new spark plugs
RTV Black sealant
Quick set epoxy
and some coolant system flush.
for me it was better than buying a new car...
lets hope it lasts...

Temperature was around 50F, slight tailwind (about 5mph), but that track is
very bumpy! I ran many races that day. That was an average one, my best
has been 12.71s. at 107.93 mph. First 60 feet aroun 1.80 to 1.85 and my
best 1/8 mile pass was 8.129 at 84.982 mph... Enjoy and please comment!

Ford Taurus Thermostat Change
While not as common source of no heat, it is still very worthy to change it
out with a new one as all that rust and sediment can cause functional
issues. Also you will now have access to that area for flushing too.
Procedure is for 3.0l 12v Vulcan engines.
