1979 Lincoln Mark V Collector's Series
Here's a video of start up, playing with the toys, and a bit of a walk
around. The carburetor hates desert heat, so sorry for the funky
idle--time for a rebuild. This is the ultimate highway cruiser.
1978 Lincoln Mark V - #6126 - Gateway Classic Cars St. Louis
For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a stylish 1978 Lincoln Mark V. In the
70's the Lincoln Mark series was the pinnacle of luxury. This was Ford
Motor Company's way to compete with Cadillac and a very successful way at
that. The Mark V screams 70's luxury, from its long straight body, to the
hideaway head lamps, to the pillow top seating, or even the opera windows.
The size, weight, and presence of the vehicle lets you know that someone
important is behind the wheel. Although the car is something to admire,
behind the wheel is the best place to be. The bench seat is as comfortable
as your easy chair at home, the steering is light enough you could steer
with one finger, and the ride is so soft it feels like you're floating down
the road. This is a car made to cover long spans of roadway. Powering the
car along is a 400 CID V8 backed by a silky smooth automatic transmission.
The vehicle has been repainted its original white, but this time it got a
treatment not available from the factory. When the light hits it right, you
can see a hint of blue flake in the white paint for a very unique look. The
vinyl top was replace at the time of paint. The body of this Lincoln is in
such great shape because it spent most of its life in Arizona before being
passed down through the family to its second owner. The original owner
ordered this one with plenty of goodies including A/C, AM/FM, cruise
control, hub caps, power brakes, power steering, power locks, power
windows, power seats, tilt/telescopic wheel, seat belts, cloth interior,
and white wall radial tires. These late 70's cruisers have a great
following and may be the next high dollar classic. This one is ready for
the collector, or simply to be driven and appreciated. You can see this
Mark V in greater detail, including HD video, at
