For those of you who care to read the details, let me give you my opinion about the STi and WRX. When it comes to comparing overall capability, performance, and price; there is nothing in the world close to an Impreza. The engineers who built the "STI" as you know it, are rooted in Prodrive. For ten years they perfected the ultimate vehicle - balancing, strengthening, reducing weight, and improving overall performance. It is the product of the 1990's mechanical engineering brainchild, developed out of the introduction of computer aided design and modern electronics during a time period when budgets weren't of object. Subaru and Prodrive spent millions upon millions of dollars perfecting a chassis for WRC competition. What is WRC? You know the name, but what is it really??? It is the most intense form of racing competition with the highest ratio and count of variables that ultimately lead to failure. Perfecting this type of racing can only be done by trial and error, experimentation, and experience. The Subaru WRC program lasted with Prodrive until they dominated the WRC for multiple years in a row. The kicker is that in order to compete in WRC you must use a readily available, production public chassis. Subaru developed the Impreza chassis with Prodrive's help and direction, thus resulting in the ultimate rally machine. By bridging the gap between racing and production, the Subaru Impreza chassis is the perfect vehicle. Symmetrical and balanced, every part of the vehicle is design for perfection. You can take it from stock to full race and compete with some of the fastest cars in the world! Run side by side with exotics or hit the trails with 4x4's, you can do ANYTHING in an Impreza and do it faster than everyone else. REMEMBER THIS!!! You are not just driving an Impreza. The 1000 hp impreza is the white one doing a high speed run. You'll see it flash through a couple of times. So if you think it is misleading, it is only because you didn't watch the entire video. ***My personal story about this video and my involvement with Subaru*** Out of all the videos I have created, I feel that this one is by far the best. All of you have probably seen it so I'm going to let you know the story behind it. I made it shortly after my mother passed away. Like within a week or so. This happened while I was building my 02 WRX - she died of cancer. It was a slow, painful death that took the course of two or three months. I lived with her at the time, so unfortunately I had a front row seat to her demise and saw just how ugly cancer can be. Most people in this situation would turn to drugs, counselors, etc - I turned to my Subaru. If any of you were wondering why I was so meticulous with the build of that vehicle and went to insane extents to modify even the most minute facet; it was a way for me to cope with life at that time. She was in good health when I started the build, and when I finished it she had already passed on. She always supported me in what I was doing despite the fact I was dumping thousands of dollars into a vehicle that I would never get back. Half way through the build before she became terminally ill I was able to take her for a ride. We only went around the block but it was one of the most memorable times I had in my Subaru and with my mother. A couple months later she died. When I was told she had passed on, guess where I was standing? In the garage next to my subaru. I made this video as a dedication to her and the fact that SHE was the one who encouraged me to build fast cars, write about them, and make videos. She was the one who let me get behind the wheel of a sports car first. I miss her so much I can't even begin to explain it.. So when you watch this video, you might see cars crashing, Subarus hooning out, etc. I see a point in my life that is very dark, and the tone of this video clearly illustrates my emotions at the time. Just goes to show you how creativity can be affected by the circumstances of life.
