Real First Impressions Video: 2013 Scion FR-S Sports Coupe (AE86)
Welcome back for another Real First Impressions Video. This time we take a quick look at the 2013 Scion FR-S. As enthusiasts know, the FR-S has been inspired by the heritage of sports hatchbacks in the Toyota family, but most notably the Corolla GTS of the '80s. Commonly referred to as the AE86, there are many design cues and elements that celebrate the past.
The 2013 Scion FR-S may be inspired by great cars of yesteryear, but that doesn't mean it is out of touch with today. Wrapped in a sports car body and powered by all-new technology, including the Boxer motor derived from the Toyota and Subaru partnership, this FR-S packs a lot of fun in a small package.
At about $25,000 the 2013 Scion FR-S is more capable than it looks with folding rear-seats and a total cargo capacity that will accommodate up to four tires and rims. It is also a slightly different take than you might be expecting as this is not a hatchback, but a true coupe.
