My old ford escort turbo diesel engine gone poorly with a really bad struggling idle. Apart from this issue it ran fine. Plenty of power when driving it.
What caused this was trying to start it in winter with a frozen water pump. It didn't even turn 1 full revolution. It knocked out the timing, so i had to remove the head to check for bent valves of which there where 2 that i replaced and this is after the rebuild so something had happened to the fuel pump. I also stripped this down to inspect but didn't see anything wrong but after this start up test and subsequent replacement of the fuel pump it was obviously damaged somehow.

Turbo Diesel Mini Bike
Start at 2:13 to skip the intro, or click here for a helmet-cam ride:
This is an idea I've had since I was a kid, and after watching Mike Cberts
Diesel mini bike video I was inspired to put together my own! The frame
has been around since I was 4 years old! At that point it was powered by a
3 hp Briggs and Stratton and is a Fox corporation, Trail Bug probably from
the 60's or early 70's. The engine is a copy of a 10 hp Yanmar single
cylinder Diesel engine and the turbo is
similar to the one on my Honda CX-500 turbo motorcycle. The engine runs at 3,600 rpm
max and top speed so far is 39.3 mph.
Here's a description of 2 stroke & 4 stroke Diesel engines:
