Continuing our review of reliable vehicles, the 1993 Subaru Loyale is a low-cost, capable option. This one was manufactured before the series was plagued by head gasket leaks and has accumulated over 220,000 miles in the near constant moisture of the Pacific Northwest.

Subaru Loyale Straight Pipe
The other day the muffler was busted up on a rock, so I cut it off and replaced it with pipe and a turndown. Sounds nice, and there is more high end torque.

3WD Subaru race wagon at Loveday after October RC09 (monday) - Rock Crusher
After the racing on Saturday and Sunday I tried to finish off the Race Wagon on what Loveday 4x4 Park has on offer. The racing took its toll on this wagon the third time there, broke a diff stub and lost a rear axle. Also snapped a rear shocker. The front struts were bent again. And 2nd gear blew a couple of hours before this video.
This is the "Rock Crusher" at Loveday 4x4 Park in SA on the Murray River. Considering the water depth and only 3WD (yes that wasn't a spelling mistake!) I am surprised at making it out of the hole.

Here I am driving down trail with a busted rear torsion bar, creating a sagging rear diff, and hyperextended axles. Worried about clearance in the ruts, I choose to straddle them.
