BMW 540i - Rebuilt exhaust system to the rebuilt V8 for ethanol fuel
This is how the rebuilt 4-liter V8 (M60) sounds with the rebuilt special Exhaust system.
The new special Exhaustsystem has slightly modified original Exhaust manifolds, a big single fullflow calatylic converter for 500hp, dual 2,5" pipe catback including modified 2-disc Car Chemistry inserts (cc-inserts) and a big straight thru silencer with 3,5" tips. The Exhaust system is wrapped with 3 layers Exhaust tape, from the Exhaust manifolds to the cat.
Info about this rebuild BMW V8 engine:
Rebuild to 100% ethanol (E85) operation. After a 1.6 mm face milling of cylinder heads is the compression ratio now 12.5:1 (original 10:1).
Completely rebuilt fuel system for higher fuel flow and pressure. The fuelsystem has now installed BOSCH EV6 injectors, that flows 42 LBS/HR (436cc/min) with E85 fuel. Original fuelinjectors flow 19 LBS/HR (191cc/min) for petrol.
Fuel pressure set to original 3,5 bar (51 psi). It has a old engine optimization for Shell V-Power petrol. The motor control will be re-optimized for the E85 fuel.
Probably the only BMW V8 engine which is completely converted to run on ethanol. The car is a BMW 540i Touring from 1995.

My 540i with new pipes block-back. 3.5 inch tips. Revs did not exceed 4500 rpm. I'll do a redline vid if requested.
EDIT: Guess YouTube muffles the sound a little? Its louder than in the video.
$550 total for everything cat-back. Another $200 for the pipes engine-to-cat.
All less than a B&B catback.
