AEM Intake Installation - E46 BMW 325 - 12 Step Program

installation to see how easy it is to complete an AEM install on something
as simple as your driveway. Here are the Steps we highlight in the video.
Remove the AEM Intake System (Part #21-672P) from the box and verify all
pieces are intact.
Remove old (or factory) intake. Disconnect the assembly from the vehicle's
Mass Airflow Sensor.
Underneath the intake is a rubber mouth. Unclasp the mount and pull it
Secure the AEM Heat Shield using the supplied washers and a 10mm nylok
Slip the silicone coupler over the MAF sensor with the supplied hose
clamps. Be careful not to over-tighten the clamp.
Slip the intake piping into the other end of the coupler and tighten the
second hose clamp.
Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack. Support the vehicle using a
properly rated jack stand.
Remove the lug studs using a 17mm socket in order to remove the left front
Using a 8mm socket, remove the bolts securing the lower splash guard.
Attach the rubber mount to the open point under the headlight assembly.
Attach the intake bracket using the supplied nuts and washers.
Install the optional AEM Dryflow Pre-Filter (Part #1-4000).
Install the AEM Dryflow Air Filter over the secured intake piping using the
last hose clamp.

2001 BMW 325i gets intake replaced with a K&N Cold Air Intake.

Installation took about 30-45 minutes with the included instructions.
Supposed to improve horsepower, torque, and MPG
but most noticeable difference is the sound.

Summary of Important Steps of the Injen True Cold Air Intake Install:
1. Uninstall upper portion of factory intake system
2. Remove factory "CCV" tube and use Injen hardware to join factory coolant
3. Remove battery and tray
4. Remove misc tubes and items
5. Remove final (lower) pieces of factory intake system

6. Install Injen battery tray / bracket and factory battery
7. Put on throttle body coupler for the Injen True Cold Air Intake system

sensor on the upper intake tube.
8. Install Injen Vibra-Mount
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeGQm-rYvPk&t=1400). Please note the 2014
Civic Si requires a small amount of drilling, unlike previous years.
9. Install lower silicone portion of Injen True Cold Air Intake system
10. Install upper pipe of Injen intake
11. Put on lower most curved aluminum pipe section for the Injen intake

filter and tighten down all other clamps on intake, making sure there is
enough clearance everywhere.
12. Finish connecting misc. items, such as battery and MAF sensor
