Ducati 999 ride and crash

First time using my GoPro HD. It was a cool day and a little sand on the roadway was all it took.

DUCATI CRASH @ ZOLDER 11_06_2010
27°Celsius, 4 rounds warming up, a Pirelli Supercorsa Pro at the rear, a Pirelli Diablo Rosso at the front, standard suspension settings (exept rebound compression 3 clicks from hardest) and yet, the front wheel went its own way in a righthand corner. You can hear i stopped braking a moment before the fronttire lost it's grip. So WTF happened? I'ld like to know!

Ducati 748/916 Go Pro HD daytime test #1
Some editing has been done as you can see... Purely for fun, nothing to hide... Anyway, this video file has been drastically compressed from the original, from 800mb to 200mb! The original 720p resolution is still their, but the picture quality has been lost, greatly! So will have to tinker around with AVS to get the best quality. Overall, amazed with this camera, bought a chest harness harness for it as well today! Remember to like :)

Ducati 1199s Panigale & CBR600RR Lowside On The Snake | Johnny5sWorld
On a cold Sunday there were 4 lowsides that I knew of, this is the video for two. Sorry for the shaky footage (more details below) CBR600RR - Q2 Tires, track bodywork ziptied together. Rider was on cold tires moments before lowside. Pressures were also too high for the weather. No injury to rider, just cosmetic damage to the bike. Ducati Panigale - 1199s was a rental from racyrentals.com, rider was from out of town and only had two days on the bike. bike was damaged heavily from frame, forks, wheels & bodywork. Rider only had minor bruises and road rash to right forearm. Bike carried full coverage from rental so a $2500.00 vehicle waiver will be charged for the damage. German ghostrider crashes at 140km/h!
This German/Russian wannabe ghostrider crashes when he underestimates his own speed and the distance to the front car. The amazing part about it is that he stands up, crosses the busy road and goes back to his bike. Even though the bike is totaled, he has only minor injuries (concussion & shoulder muscle rupture). Take a look at his protective bike dress and let it be a lesson... I don't wanna know what would have happened if he hadn't worn it - still pretty amazing. Btw, in the end he says he is still driving this crazy until today. I'm surprised he hasn't earned a Darwin award yet... [Correction]: Apparently he's from Luxembourg and not Russian. The accents in German sound really similar and the name they gave him is Russian.

Inside a Ducati V-twin
The voice-over is a bit school information video, but the CG stuff inside a Ducati Hypermotard 1100 engine is pretty cool. Well, it is if it's a slow lunch hour...

R6 Crash - Rider Goes Wide Into Dirt
Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles has been a popular location motorcycles & fast cars for decades. Car and motorcycle clubs are regular visitors every weekend. Jay Leno can often be found at the famous Rockstore and at a view point called Lookout talking with fellow motor enthusiasts. Crashes are common as well as a heavy police presence on most weekends. The Snake is a two mile section of Mulholland above the Rockstore. Riders usually will make multiple runs allowing me to move from corner to corner when assembling rider videos. The speed limit is 45 mph, most riders are not going much over that so the majority of tickets are crossing the line, wheelies or equipment violations. Bicycles are up here all the time but motorcycles and bikes seem to do fine together as long as the cyclists are willing to stay to the right. Cars passing them are a bigger problem since there is no shoulder and most turns are blind. I mainly shoot on the last corner coming up because I can see much of the road and photogs are expected. The turn gets it's fair share of crashes but people crash other places also just no one is filming. The top corner I shoot seem to average one crash every couple weeks in the summer, out of many hundreds of riders. 911 emergency services are rarely called and accidents are seldom reported since most riders do not get injured severely. Near crash on 91W on 6.13.11
Near crash on the 91W freeway. I wasn't paying attention and was slow on the brakes. About 2 seconds slow and it resulted in me almost rear ending multiple cars. I panic braked and locked up my rear tire early on (bad I know) and was basically skidding when I was passing between the cars. I could feel my rear end sliding around when I was going between the cars. Somehow I still had control and slightly leaned the bike to avoid hitting the cars. By luck I missed hitting all the cars and didn't realize how lucky i was until I was about a mile down the road. But damn it was hard braking because even the cars were swerved to the side of the lanes. Bike is a 2006 naked suzuki sv650 with clubman bars. EDIT 4/29/13: I've since sold this bike and looking for another bike. Thinking of getting a ninja 250 or a cafe racer.
