Audi A4 2.8L 30v - Stock vs Borla Pro Xs
Most recent post: "IF you want my advice, go to techtonicstuning.com, buy
the borla or magnaflow catback Exhaust, aluminized to save a few bucks or
stainless if you don't care. They sound amazing and they don't drone. They
are specifically tuned and mandrel bent. do it right!"
Just installed a Borla Pro Xs Muffler (40348). the muffler is a bit long,
but fit with some modification to the inlet and custom piping.
Great tone, was a bit loud for the mic on my camera, but the idle sounds
Cabin noise is greatly increased with a lot of resonance drone under
Between 2200 and 2600rpm. If you don't push it, it's quiet, but as soon as
you give it gas, it gets quite loud inside.
I probably should have added this a long time ago, but if you're looking to
do this, see what other options there are, this one is definitely one of
the cheaper ones, but It's so long that the fit is really tight. You may
benefit from a muffler that isn't 19" long.
recently removed the borla and replaced it with a shorter inexpensive
magnaflow, it was a good move, I'll try to post another comparison at some
point. Apparently there is a lot more to Exhaust than I initially thought.
My audi is incapacitated, if you have the 2.8l engine, be sure to pay close
attention to the condition of your PCV valve... apparently the 2.8L engine
is highly prone to sludge buildup and will clog. I was quoted $4300 to
replace all the the oil seals in the engine. Unfortunatly I will probably
not be posting any further videos with this car. IF you want my advice, go
to techtonicstuning.com, buy the borla or magnaflow catback Exhaust, aluminized to save a few bucks or
stainless. They sound amazing and they don't drone. do it right!
