1972 Pontiac GTO undergoing restoration
This vehicle, owned by Brian since 1972, is now undergoing a major restoration project. It has already been off the frame so that part could be tidied up and reinforced with boxing and extra plating going into several sections. As is typical with many old cars, they have had to sit in back corners for many years as other family responsibilities took precedence. This decision to fully restore the car took place when a leaky intake manifold gasket was being replaced, and from there Brian kept taking things apart more and more on the car. The seeds have been planted, this is where the car is now. New rear quarter sections are going on, Brian is a very competent welder, and has all the things needed at home to do the job properly. There is no gas tank (now refurbished) or any fuel lines with fuel on the car so this task will be a safe one with due caution being taken. A multitude of suspension and mechanical upgrades are being done/have been done to bring an already competent car even higher up the scale in modern handling expectations. A fuel injection system and other up to date features will be added to the car, yet it will still keep it's original looks to heart. A decent combination for a car that is to be driven a lot and not merely sit in a garage. So with this, bit by bit this car will come together, and with this, I will try to bring clips of the progress. Note: If you give a 'dislike', please tell me why in a PM, the channel is set up to allow all notes in private to come to my 'In Box'. I say this for a few years ago I posted a clip on a '73 GTO with an SD455 in it. It was decided to remove it from the channel, people were going at each other and me as well. People were going at each other about other's engines, their cars, how they were being fixed up, and even to how I filmed the video itself were subjects of rants and anger ( the camera I had was very poor at the time). Thank you.
