Crank Sensor Quick Fix
GET SOFTWARE HERE: http://www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/Software_Catalog.html Crank Sensor Quick-Fix There are two types of crank sensors, and two types of tests, the 2 and 3 wire sensors. Here are the flash points for the crank sensor testing. 1) The 2 wire crank sensor generates a voltage, and is quick tested with a test light. 2) To test the two wire sensor, disconnect the crank sensor, ignition key on, hook the test light to battery power, and tap at each crank sensor terminal repeatedly. A spark click and injector pulse should be seen. 3) The 3 wire sensor has its own circuit, with 5 to 8 volt power, ground, and signal wires. Identify the signal wire using volt meter or diagram. 4) Take the test light and connect to battery ground. With key on, disconnect crank sensor, and repeatedly tap on the signal wire. You should hear a spark click and injector noid pulse. These are to test the ECM crank sensor circuit response. On both tests, you should see a spark click and injector pulse. Crank sensor is the main input to the ECM. If ECM working, then the crank is the only other issue. There are other ways to test, but involve an oscilloscope and more complex. This concludes the cranks sensor Quick-Fix.

The CAM and CRK sensors are types of speed sensors. There are variations of each and these varieties will dictate the way you test the sensor. Explained here are specific electrical values, such as voltage signals and how the sensor is connected to the ECM itself. This is vital information since most of the diagnostic time is spent in analyzing the wiring diagrams for the component in question. Presented here using the latest CG and graphic animation technology. Part of our wiring diagram set of videos shown here on this channel. Variable CAM Timing
Variable CAM Timing Get the book here: https://www.createspace.com/4321251 Variable CAM timing is a concept that entails changing the camshaft timing, as needed, depending on engine LOAD demands. This technology was impossible just a few years ago, due to the state of the art electronics needed. The latest Variable CAM Timing (VCT) systems are infinitely variable, meaning they have no specified settings. CAM timing can be changed or varied instantaneously across the whole range (ie. Plus or Minus 30 degrees from normal). By varying the CAM timing, the ECM can regulate the power curve to meet its own needs. On any gasoline engine, each RPM setting has an optimum CAM timing setting, depending on load. Up until a few years ago engines were set whatever the CAM lobes were machined at. With modern VCT, this relationship can be varied, also varying the engine's power curve. Most modern VCT systems do not control valve lift, but do great by simply changing open and close timing points during engine operation. See how it works here, with this superbly animated training video on automotive technology and variable cam timing (VCT). *************************************************************************** *********** Amazon Printed-Books & Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&fiel d-keywords=mandy+concepcion Google Play Android APPs: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=mandy+concepcion&c=apps Amazon Video DVDs: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dmovies-tv&field -keywords=mandy+concepcion Barnes & Noble Nook: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/mandy-concepcion?keyword=mandy+concepcion&s tore=allproducts Apple iTunes iPad: http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/mandy-concepcion/id449573393?mt=11

Quick Tip-Throttle Cleaning - EricTheCarGuy
This one goes out to BowlingBallOut who posted a question about a sticky throttle on his Saturn. It was a great question so I decided to make this video in response to it. There are many different configurations of throttle assemblies but for the most part if you have a throttle that is sticking you might be able to fix it using the procedures in this video. I am aware you may not able to purchase spray throttle cleaner in some states now but I'm sure they have some alternative available at your local parts store. One very important note here is that if you have a drive by wire throttle (DBW), then I do NOT recommend this procedure. If you perform this procedure on a DBW throttle body you may need to have the throttle reset in order to get your engine to idle or even start. I only recommend this procedure if you're trying to correct a problem with a sticking throttle. If you have idle problems, I recommend you check out this article on my website. http://www.ericthecarguy.com/faq/solving-automotive-idle-problems The best place for answers to your automotive questions: http://www.ericthecarguy.com BowlingBalOutl's channel http://www.youtube.com/user/bowlingballout Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy?fref=ts Twitter: https://twitter.com/EricTheCarGuy Google+: https://plus.google.com/100195180196698058780/posts Information on Premium Membership: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/premium-content-streaming-etcg-content Stay dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.  EricTheCarGuy assumes no liability for property damage or injury incurred as a result of any of the information contained in this video. EricTheCarGuy recommends safe practices when working with power tools, automotive lifts, lifting tools, jack stands, electrical equipment, blunt instruments, chemicals, lubricants, or any other tools or equipment seen or implied in this video.  Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, no information contained in this video shall create any express or implied warranty or guarantee of any particular result.  Any injury, damage or loss that may result from improper use of these tools, equipment, or the information contained in this video is the sole responsibility of the user and not EricTheCarGuy.

Yamaha YZF R1 crossplane crankshaft technology explained
The crossplane or cross-plane is a crankshaft design for V8 engines with a 90° angle between the cylinder banks. The crossplane crankshaft is the configuration used in most V8 road cars.3d model of a cross-plane crankshaft demonstrating the 90 degree angle between the crank throws and the large counter weights. The crossplane crankshaft has four crankpins, each offset at 90° from the adjacent crankpins. The first and last of the four crank pins are at 180° with respect to each other as are the second and third, with each pair at 90° to the other, so that viewed from the end the crankshaft forms a cross. The crankpins are therefore in two planes crossed at 90°, hence the name crossplane. A crossplane crank may have up to five main bearings, and usually does, as well as large balancing weights. Crossplane V8 engines have uneven firing patterns within each cylinder bank, producing a distinctive burble in the Exhaust note, but an even firing pattern overall. Their second-order balance, owing to the 90° bank angle and 90° throws, means no additional balance shaft is necessary to achieve greater smoothness. Without the 90° bank angle, a balance shaft may be required. The other prominent design for a V8 crankshaft is the flatplane crankshaft, with all crankpins in the same plane and the only offset 180°. Early V8 engines, modern racing engines and some others used or use the flatplane crankshaft, which is similar to that used in a straight four or flat-four engine. Flatplane V8 engines may use any angle between the cylinder banks, with 60° and 90° the most common. They lack the V8 burble and the superior mechanical balance of the crossplane design, but do not require the large crankshaft balancing weights. Inherent balance of the big ends is like a straight four, and modern designs often incorporate a balance shaft for smoothness. But without balance shafts, flatplane designs have the least flywheel effect of any V8s, which allows them to be more free-revving. The crossplane design was first proposed in 1915, and developed by Cadillac and Peerless, both of whom produced flatplane V8s before introducing the crossplane design. Cadillac introduced the first crossplane in 1923, with Peerless following in 1924. Inline-4 engines can also use the crossplane concept. The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle uses the crossplane crankshaft and, in the absence of the 90° bank angle of the V8, must use a separate balance shaft geared off the crankshaft to eliminate the inherent vibration (a primary rocking couple) found in this type of crank. A crossplane crank has been used in Yamaha's M1 MotoGP racing models in the past. Yamaha claims advances in metal forging technologies make this a practical consumer product.

Common rail injection system
The injection technology used in the TGL and TGM is the most sophisticated one: a state-of-the-art common rail injection system with vertically positioned 7-jet injector nozzle. The latest generation of EDC7 control units provide the controls of the system. Only this system ensures the best-possible control of the fuel injection process. In each compression stroke, the injection quantity can be divided into pre-injection (1) and main injection (2). In some cases, a post-injection (3) is used. The engines operate with an increased maximum injection pressure of more than 1,800 bar in order to reduce the soot particles inside the engine. The engine runs extremely quietly and noise emissions are low due to the pre-injection (1). The common rail system also supplies considerable advantages in torque, particularly at low speeds. At all engine ratings, the favourable progression of torque across a wide range of engine speeds makes driving economical and requires very few gear shifts.

P0325 Knock Sensor Diagnosis - EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ Wells website http://www.wellsve.com/ Wells YouTube (great videos I recommend you subscribe) http://www.youtube.com/user/markjhicks As you can see by the title this video covers the diagnosis and repair of a P0325 on my 1997 Subaru Legacy L model with 2.2L engine backed by an auto trans. I did have some trouble with the 'factory' diagnostic procedure but thankfully my friend Mark at Wells Electronics had a test that involved a voltage drop across the sensor that worked perfectly. I hope this video illustrates the import ants of understanding a circuit that you're diagnosing as opposed to just throwing parts at something, with a little time and effort you can do a proper diagnosis. --- Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com http://ericthecarguy.com/ Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx Visit my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy --- Stay dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.

How To Perform a Parasitic Draw Test - EricTheCarGuy
http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ This video has been a long timing coming and is one of the most requested things I get is about batteries going dead overnight so I'm very happy to finally bring you this video about the process of finding a parasitic draw which is a small drain on a battery above 50ma when the vehicle is shut off. Once you find the right fuse(s) the next step is to trace the components involved in that circuit till you find the source of the draw, you first start with a wiring diagram to give you an idea of where to start looking and then start unplugging things in that circuit to isolate the cause, it's quite scientific really a simple process of elimination. Here is a link to BBB's site that you can use to look up wiring diagrams for your application. http://www.bbbind.com/tech_database.html Good luck and if you have anymore questions check the database on my website and if you don't find what you're looking for there then post your question to my forum, here's a link. http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx --- Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com http://ericthecarguy.com/ Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx Visit my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy --- Be safe, have fun, and stay dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.
