Big Block Chevy Vega Wagon Wheelie
A little too much launch RPM resulted in the car hitting the wheelie bars and staying there. I lifted to get the front end back down. I then got right back on it and it jacked the front end right back up. I lifted again and aborted the run. 4,000rpm launch which is still a full 1,000rpm BELOW the engines peak torque! Crushed 4 primary header tubes on this pass.

1969 Chevrolet Caprice Kingswood Wagon Drag Racing Barona Drag Strip 11-17-2012
This1969 Chevrolet Caprice Kingswood Wagon Drag Racing Barona Drag Strip 1/8 mile. Watch as the times get better and better with a wheel stand. KING OF THE TRACK 2012, TEST and TUNE GAMBLER GRUDGE RACING SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2012 ALL CARS WELCOME! If you can drive it....YOU CAN RACE IT!!! King of the Track WALLY will be up for grabs this Saturday! Winner of King of the Track will also receive FREE tech cards for the ENTIRE 2013 Race Season at Barona 1/8 Mile Drags! The 1969 Caprice and other full-sized Chevrolets were restyled with crisper body lines and front bumpers that wrapped around the grille (again with optional concealed headlights, for which headlight washers could be added as a new "one year only" option) along with ventless front windows on all models. The 119-inch (3,023 mm) wheelbase, inner bodyshell and framework were carried over from the 1965 model -- along with the rooflines of pillared four-door sedans (which were offered in lesser Impala, Bel Air and Biscayne series, but not on Caprices, which continued only in two- and four-door hardtop choices only). The station wagon was renamed the Kingswood Estate, but continued to use exterior wood grain trim along with exterior and interior trim shared with Caprice sedans and coupes. Inside, front seat headrests were now standard equipment due to a federal safety mandate and the ignition switch moved from the dashboard to the steering column and doubled as a lock for the steering wheel when the key was removed, a Federal mandate that took effect with the 1970 models but introduced a year earlier on all General Motors cars except the Corvair. The 1969 Caprice also offered a new GM-designed variable-ratio power steering unit as optional equipment along with a seldom-ordered "Liquid Tire Chain" option, which was a vacuum activated button that would spray ice melt on the rear tires (UPC option code is "V75"). The standard engine was enlarged to a 235 hp (175 kW) 327 cu in (5.4 L) V8 with optional engine choices including a new 350 cu in (5.7 L) turbo Fire V8 rated at 255 and 300 hp (220 kW), a 265 hp (198 kW) 396 cu in (6.5 L) cubic-inch turbo Jet V8, and 427 cu in (7.0 L) cubic-inch turbo Jet V8s rated at 335 and 390 hp (291 kW). All V8 engines were now available with the three-speed turbo Hydramatic transmission for the first time though the two-speed Powerglide was still offered with the 327 and 350 V8s. The 1970 Caprice received a minor facelift featuring a more conventional under the grille bumper replacing the wrap-around unit used in 1969 along with new triple vertical taillights in the rear bumper. Power front disc brakes and fiberglass-belted tires on 15-inch (380 mm) wheels were made standard equipment along with a larger 250 hp (186 kW) 350 cubic-inch turbo Fire V8. Optional V8s included a 300 hp (220 kW) 350 and a new 265 hp (198 kW) 400 cu in (6.6 L) turbo Fire V8. At the top of the engine roster, the big block 427 was replaced by a new (longer stroke) 454 cu in (7.4 L) turbo Jet V8 offered in power ratings of 345 hp (257 kW) and 390 hp (290 kW). Both the 250- and 265 hp (198 kW) turbo Fire engines were designed to use regular gasoline while the 300 hp (220 kW) 350 turbo Fire and both 454 turbo Jet engines required premium fuel. A three-speed manual transmission with column shift was standard equipment as in previous years but the floor-mounted four-speed manual with Hurst shifter was dropped from the option list for 1970 as were the Strato bucket seats and center console previously offered on coupes. Automatic transmission options included the two-speed Powerglide on 350 V8s and turbo Hydramatic with all engines.

132702 / 1975 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/7ls72l8 This all original 1975 Cosworth is one of 2,061 cars produced for the '75 model year, has only 291 actual miles, and has all of the rare and difficult to find Cosworth Vega parts right where the factory installed them. Assembled at GMs historic Lordstown, Ohio manufacturing facility, and finished in standard issue 1975 Cosworth Vega code 19 black acrylic lacquer, CV number 1094 is every bit as clean today as when it left the showroom floor. The car has remained in all original, non-repaired condition thanks in small part to GMs anti-rust improvements, and in large part to immaculate maintenance and care given by loving owners throughout its life. Today, it features an old school factory appeal that you just can't find in its restored peers. With 110 horsepower and a 6,500 RPM redline, the Cosworth Vega was one of the hottest performing cars available in 1975 and featured a hand-built mill from GM's Tonawanda engine plant that was individually signed by its builder on a sticker that occupies the cam cover. Measuring in at 122 cubic inches, and wearing a correct partial VIN of 40392, this Vegas DOHC inline-four features sturdy forged aluminum pistons, a heat-treated forged steel crankshaft and forged connecting rods that both reveal the engines racing ancestry and assure high performance durability. To meet ever increasing US emissions standards, a custom designed stainless steel Exhaust header and Bendix electronic fuel injection with pulse-time manifold injection, four injector valves, an electronic control unit (ECU), five independent sensors and two fuel pumps were installed. Thanks to this revolutionary engine, the Vega was the first Chevrolet car to feature electronic fuel injection which warranted an HEI distributor for increased spark and a heavy duty radiator for increased cooling. At the bottom of this sophisticated Chevrolet, an original Saginaw 4-speed manual transmission, which wears a correct 338835 casting number and a correct 15U240392 partial VIN, sends power to an original 10 bolt rear end that's packed full of stout 3.73 gears. Holding that sports car drivetrain off the ground is an original F41 heavy duty suspension which includes a 'torque arm' rear end for optimum rear axle power control, larger rear stabilizer bars, Vega GT springs and shocks, provisions for the Vega's "fast Steer" option and front disc brakes. At the center of the car, an original single pipe Exhaust system snakes spent gases along the floorpan to a factory replacement muffler which barks an exotic four cylinder growl through two polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the car, 13 inch British-made, gold-painted cast aluminum wheels spin correct BR70-13 Goodyear Custom Steelgard Radials around chrome lug nuts and satin finished Chevrolet center caps. Take a look inside this pristine Cosworth Vega and you'll find the typical all business/no compromises black interior that these cars have built a reputation for. The custom bucket seats, which are completely fresh and display no signs of wear at all, nicely complement a 100% straight and crack-free dash. Inside that dash, an engine-turned gold bezel houses a Cosworth exclusive 8,000 RPM tachometer between a 120 MPH speedometer, gauges for the engines vitals and a gold-plated plaque which is branded with the cars 1094 build sequence number. Below those gauges, a correct radio delete sits next to the cars original heater/defroster; and in front of those gauges, a familiar black steering wheel is centered behind a blue Cosworth Vega horn button emblem. At the floor, the booted shifter for the Borg Warner T10 transmission springs up from like-new black carpet which is protected by color-keyed floor mats. And at the roof, the cars original mouse fur headliner stretches tightly around vinyl sun visors and a bright courtesy lamp. The door panels, which look as good as new, are decorated with attractive stainless trim and chrome handles for both the doors and windows. And the hatch, which is lined with the same black carpet as the floor boards, appears to have never been used. If you're a serious collector who's been searching for something rare and unique, here's your opportunity to own one of the nicest and most underappreciated cars on the planet!
