Maybach Special Race Car New Zealand 2002.
This Maybach Special race car won the very first International Grand Prix at Ardmore North Island New Zealand in 1954. The Australian built race car had an engine that was salvaged from a German WW 11 Mayback half track vehicle. The driver was Stan Jones, father of Formula driver Alan Jones. In March 2002 the car raced at Pukekohe by the curent owner Bob Harboro

Jazz Musican Mike Walker driving his Fiat Bambina ( Car # 101 Known as "FI FO" ) powered by a Ford Anglia 105 E motor, mounted in the passengers foot well, built by Roy Harrington from Howick Auckland New Zealand. The driver had to twist his legs around the motor to operate the foot pedals, and hope he didn't get burnt from Exhaust heat on the 16 " x 18" x 1/2 inch plate of steel mounted as protection in case the motor exploded. The final drive was a Triumph Herald differential. 1971 Saloon car championship "PART 1"
This is the "Osram saloon car championship" part of the "Iberia Trophy - 1971". The race took place on 11-09-1971, at the now gone circuit of "Crystal Palace". Cars include Camero, Viva HB GT, Escort RS1600, Mini Cooper's etc.. Big names such as the late "Gerry Marshall".. Enjoy the time warp with "Murray Walker" on commentary
