An incredible Mk1 Ford Cologne Capri lovingly built as a European Touring Car Championship RS3100 recreation.

The Cologne Capri is a real magnet for enthusiasts and this stunning recreation is awesome. Finished in the striking Radiant Red and Diamond White colour scheme the quality of finish is obvious from the deep gloss finish that has been achieved. The lightweight fibreglass Cologne panels have been professionally fitted giving the car gorgeous flowing lines that look right at any angle. From the bonnet scoop, over the louvered rear window to the huge ducktail spoiler this example achieves instant respect and admiration. Difficult to fault other than a few tiny imperfections on very close scrutiny. Amazing and one for the Ford collector.
Spartan, crude and rudimentary just like the RS3100 race-cars used in the 1974 European Touring Car Championships. A complete bolt-in roll-cage and two Cobra Daytona race seats offer secure anchorage for the OMP six point safety belts and leave the driver in no doubt that this vehicle is designed with fun and exhilaration in mind. A separate Shift-Lite tachometer and labelled switches and buttons only add to the 'race' feel but importantly all the creature comforts remain operational such as heating and ventilation! A modified sports cockpit functional but removed from road going examples.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Ford Essex 3.0 V6 engine has been meticulously cared for with documented maintenance records and recognised modifications proving this as a usable vehicle developing 160bhp and not an unreliable unit requiring constant fettling. Unleaded cylinder head conversion, excellent oil pressure and an uprated cooling system make this a driving delight rather than a trailer show and shine exhibitor. Various chrome detailing can be seen beneath the diamond shaped strut brace once again 'wowing' expectant onlookers when the bonnet is raised. The four speed transmission offers perfect ratios and no whines, knocks or creaks exist but familiarisation is required before the driver can enter race mode!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES.
Expensive Compomotive ML light alloy wheels finished in white with polished rims are pristine and offer 8" wide front and 10" wide rear profiles. Shod in new Avon Motorsport CR500 road legal tyres the look created is worth every penny! Uprated front braking system courteous of four-pot Princess calipers, stainless flexi hoses and 2.8 vented discs with Mintex pads offer ample safe stopping power.
Owned by a charming Ford fanatic for 27 years this incredible creation started life as a Mk1 Ford Capri 1600GT and was painstakingly transformed into a Cologne Capri RS3100 recreation. Well known in the Capri world parting with this beautiful vehicle was difficult and it is hoped the new owner will fully appreciate the labour of love, attention to detail and tremendous time that the previous owner poured into the project and therefore continue to show the car for all to enjoy.
An A5 pad with detailed hand written notes by the previous owner for the last 27 years in chronological order will help convince the new custodian how unique and special this car really is. From every oil change to major expense every minuet detail is documented. Amazing.

Test Drive the 1974 Ford Capri V8!
Hi! This is Agent 8771's 1974 Ford Capri, featuring a high-output 302 V8
and Borg-Warner T5 transmission hooked to a Ford 9 inch positraction rear.
This car originally had the wheezy Pinto 2000 cc engine and 4 speed trans,
so it is much better now. A nice, original, rust-free unit brought up from
the States to save it from the idiotic "cash for clunkers" stupidity. Sweet
vintage aluminum slot mags, nerf bars, and diamond-tuft package tray finish
this Capri off in classic 70's style! Hope you like it as much as I do!

Oldtimer GP 2012 auf dem Nürburgring. Peter Zakowski fährt das Original
Meisterschaftsauto von 1981, mit dem Klaus Ludwig damals gewann.
Das Fahrzeug ist mit dem kleinen Motor der Division 2 bestückt mit 1,4l
In beiden Rennen sah Zakowski die Zielflagge wegen technischer Probleme
nicht. Im Rennen 1 bedrängt er Oliver Mathai im Porsche 935 und im Rennen
2 räumt er binnen kürzester Zeit das Feld von hinten auf.
Sowohl nach dem Training als auch nach dem ersten Rennen wurde am Fahrzeug
umfangreich gearbeitet. Der Ladedruck ist noch nicht eingestellt und
deshalb hat P.Zakowski die Hand häufiger mal am "Dampfrad".
Vom turbo Capri wurden insgesamt fünf
Fahrzeuge gebaut. Ein Fahrzeug wurde zerstört, eines zu einem Mustang umgebaut, ein Fahrzeug wurde
von Herbert Stenger bei Bergrennen eingesetzt, ein Fahrzeug baut Stefan
Mücke in Berlin wieder auf und hier eben das 1981er Meisterschaftsauto bei

My Explorer blew up & left me sit (4.0L SOHC V6 timing chain failure)
Bought this POS for $1,000 and a day after I get it the timing chains start
making a death rattle. It was majorly doctor'd up. Got if off some idiot in
his 20's whose a dealer in the inner city...heard bad shit about the cars
he sells and didnt listen, and now i learned my lesson. I sold the truck a
few days after it blew up for $600. Took a $500 loss...the biggest bust I
have ever taken with any car I've ever sold. Sold it to some old rich
people.....I have no idea why they wanted this POS with a blown motor and
220k miles. They said they were putting a new motor in it. Whatever floats
I'm still trying to figure out why a ghost was in this truck! You can see
the orb fly around as plain as day and go into the dash!

A dazzling Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special with just 24,844 miles from
Body-coloured door mirrors-driver electric, body-coloured grille, lamp
bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers,
tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge,
tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black
headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered
steering wheel, electrically operated aerial, tilting/sliding steel
sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control.
The bodywork of this race-bred Capri is in very good condition finished in
Mercury Grey, (code Q7). A deep blemish free shine gives this car a
beautiful presence. The plastic trim has not faded and all the decals are
correct and present. There are some minor markings commensurate with a car
of 26 years of age such as the rear wings where the rubber spoiler sits.
The supplying dealer sticker in rear screen and front and rear number
plates are still fitted. The vehicle has not been detailed on the underside
or engine bay. A wonderful unmolested survivor.
The interior of this 2.8 Injection Special evokes a sense of true nostalgia
with the supportive Recaro seats looking fantastic finished in the grey
high-grade leather with 'Strobe' pattern fabric centre panels. The black
perforated headlining unique to the Special is tight and clean and the deep
pile grey carpeting is soft to touch. The leather covered steering wheel
along with the drivers bolster has worn. The dash area remains original
and fully functioning controls and areoflow vents face the driver in a
wonder fashion. Minor hairline cracks to the dash top can just be seen.
The original Dealer tax disc holder and leather key fob are still included.
An 80's iconic interior exactly true to the manufactures intentions.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Capri is in fine mechanical order having covered such low miles in its
26 years. The Capri 2.8 Injection was the first offering of the new Special
Vehicle Engineering (SVE) operation that had recently been set up in
Dunton, Essex. SVE added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an
oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator
making this models 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds.
The 5 speed gearbox is in fine fettle and slots through the gears
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This Capri is fitted with the factory original 7-spoke alloy wheels. The
plastic centre caps have had the Ford logo refreshed at a DIY standard.
Brand new AVON turbospeed CR28 205/60
R13 tyres have been fitted. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes
with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8 Special stop the car quickly
and in a straight line.
Supplied new by Ford Main Dealers, Harper Motor Co. Ltd on the 8th August
1987 this will be one of the very last 2.8 Specials ever made being on an
'E' prefix. Remaining with its original private owner, Mr Allan, for 26
years and until May of this year, before being purchased by a second owner.
Annually serviced by the supplying Ford Dealer up to 24,148 miles and 1998
before being laid up. Fortunately, the owner kept the annual MOT ritual
despite not using the car leaving no doubt to the incredible low mileage of
just 24,844 being genuine and highly sought after.
All Ford manuals and spare keys, including the torch key on dealer leather
fob, are included.
