1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible 455 V8 Muscle Car
I thought you'd like a look at this awesome 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 convertible. This car is powered by the 455 Rocket V8 that is pumping out over 370 HP and 500 LbFt of torque. It has been nicely restored all the way around and it features some interesting and desirable options. It has the Hurst "His and Hers" shifter, the tic toc tach, and the functional ram-air hood. It just an amazing example of the muscle car era. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! 134070 / 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W30
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/cq98tde If you're in the market for a great alternative to GM's traditional stars, there are few cooler cars than this Saturn Gold Oldsmobile! Assembled in Lansing, Michigan during the second week of February, 1971, this spectacular Oldsmobile is one of only 810 442 W-30 hardtops produced for the 1971 model year. Impeccably maintained throughout its entire life, the car has never undergone a complete, frame-off restoration, and has managed to maintain a great presentation with the help of as-needed refurbishing. Today, 42 years after rolling out of the showroom, it's one head turning GM muscle car that intimidates like a cruise missile and shines like the family's best gold. And yes, that IS a correct combination of GM code 53 Saturn Gold and GM code 19 Ebony Black paint you're currently admiring. Twist this awesome 442's hood locks and you'll find a correct 455 cubic inch Rocket V8 that's branded with a familiar 396021F casting number. Unfortunately, this block's partial VIN was completely milled off during a rebuild, so we can't authenticate its status as a numbers matching piece. But we can definitely tell you the big engine, which creates 350 horsepower in factory guise, is mechanically sound and ready to hit the road. Stomp the throttle and a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor mixes juice from leak-free fuel lines with wind from a correct low-restriction air cleaner, and shoves it into a correct aluminum intake. Behind that intake, a traditional points distributor feeds fire through fresh AC Delco Packard TV R Suppression wires that are loomed around correct "H" branded heads and clean blue valve covers. And below those valve covers, correct cast iron Exhaust manifolds shoot charred dinosaurs into big, true dual pipes. Standard fare for the 442 trim was a factory heavy duty suspension which is augmented with beefy front control arms, better front shocks, thicker coil springs, boxed rear control arms, a standard rear sway bar and, in this car's case, rear air shocks. Behind the wicked 455, the car's original Muncie M22 4-speed, which wears a correct 3925661 casting number, a matching partial VIN and a Muncie (P) M22 (C) assembled on December (T) 17th (17) of 1970 (1) build stamp, sends power to stout 10 bolt rear end that's equipped with easy living gears. And at the corners of the car, chrome Magnum 500s spin fresh F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around rocket branded center caps. Inside this old school Olds, you'll find a high quality Sienna interior that appears to be mostly untouched original equipment. At the center of the car, rebuilt bucket and bench seats ride on clean brown carpet that's protected by color-keyed mats. In front of those seats, a warp-free dash hangs familiar 442 wood around correct Rally gauges and an original AM/FM stereo. And in front of the driver, a custom sport steering wheel is centered on a striking rocket horn button. Tired of the same old Chevelles and GTOs you can find anywhere, anytime? Then take a close look at this phenomenal 442! Call, click or visit http://RKMotorsCharlotte.com for more information.

1971 Olds 442 W-30 455V8 Muscle Car - Low Original Miles
I thought you'd like a look at this very nicely restored 1971 Olds 442 Muscle Car. It is a numbers matching original with only 54xxx miles since new. It's equipped with the W-30 option package which included a factory blueprinted Rocket 455, with H-heads, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carb, and forced air induction. This is one of the last true muscle cars. This car is one of only 920 produced with the W-30 option that year. I hope you find it as interesting as I did. An upscale Cutlass Calais model was added, differing from the Cutlass Supreme only in minor trim details. The new notchback Cutlass Supreme proved to be far more popular than the controversial fastback Cutlass Salon coupe and sedan introduced at the same time.. Both the Cutlass Supreme and Calais were optioned with T-tops and/or a factory sunroof, even on the base Cutlass Supreme coupe with the factory radio delete option. From 1978 through 1980, a high-performance 442 model was available, and for 1979, a special-edition performance model, the Hurst/Olds was offered. These used the Supreme's notchback body, rather than the standard fastback coupe's. Around 2,499 Hurst/Olds were produced - all were powered with an Oldsmobile 5.7L (350 cubic-inch) Rocket V8 (not the diesel engine) sourced from the full-size Delta 88 and Ninety Eight Regency. Also included in the Hurst/Olds package was the Hurst Dual/Gate shifter for the three-speed turbo Hydra-matic transmission.. This was also the first year GM introduced the OBD-I computer controlled engine management and emission control system. The 442 option moved from the aeroback Cutlass Salon coupe body to the notchback Cutlass Calais for 1980, with content upgraded from a mere "appearance and handling" package back to a legitimate performance option with content similar to the 1979 Hurst/Olds including its 350 Rocket V8. This would be the last 442 until that model was revived in 1985, again on the Cutlass notchback body, as a successor to the 1983-84 Hurst/Olds. In 1981, the Cutlass Supreme coupe received an aerodynamic restyle (with a "shovel-nose" front header panel), which, along with a higher rear deck, decreased air resistance by 15%.[2] It would continue with this basic design until the final rear-drive Cutlass was produced in 1988. A 4-door sedan was added to the Supreme lineup, with a new front end and a slight taillight lens restyle (resembling a touch-tone dial or Rubik's Cube - this lens style was used until 1984). It was this restyled body that (along with the Monte Carlo, Buick Regal, and Pontiac Gran Prix) ushered in the down-sized cars into NASCAR cup competition. While the Cutlass looked almost identical to the Buick Regal (which scored 35+ victories in the 1981 thru 1985 seasons), the Cutlass (like the Dodge Mirada) didn't take one checkered flag, and many teams moved away from it in 1983 to the Regal, Grand Prix, and restyled Monte Carlo SS. This was a rude awakening to Oldsmobile, which was getting used to wins on the NASCAR circuit. The Cutlass Supreme parted mechanical company with the rest of the Cutlass line in 1982, when continuing high sales convinced GM to continue production of its rear wheel drive mid-size cars alongside the new V6-powered, front-wheel drive A-body, known as the Cutlass Ciera. The rear-wheel drive sedan and Cutlass Cruiser wagon became part of the Cutlass Supreme line in 1982. The wagon was dropped for 1984 as a new Cutlass Ciera-based model was introduced. The Hurst/Olds reappeared on the Cutlass Calais coupe for two years, first in 1983 as the black over silver 15th anniversary, and then as the silver over black 1984 model. Both featured chrome wheels, red striping and a high output Oldsmobile 307 V8 with 4 barrel carburetor, dual muffler Exhausts and Hurst's then new three stick Lightning Rods shifter (the latter eventually becoming a magnet for thieves.) All Hurst/Olds were automatics.
