Stan and Cap's first time on track and first outing for the Mk1 MX-5 we
were in. Engine is completely standard but it has different shocks, geo
setup, tyres, TR Lane half cage and buckets/harnesses.
Great day out as always - special thanks to the chap who broke our steering
lock at the start of the day. Nope, not joking, I left the keys 120 miles
away so we had to effectively hotwire the car to get it started!
Blyton Park Track Day - 02/10/2011
Chasing Adrian in his Fisher Fury around Blyton Park through the traffic.
First visit to the circuit.
Video recorded on my new ContourGPS (with inbuild mic and rattling lens
cover so sound is of dubious quality!)
Overlay with DashWare
Ended with 3rd gear falling out of the engine :(

mx5 1.8 mk1 nurburgring run.
This was a filmed run in green hell aka the nordschleife. In a 94 1.8 mx5
stock apart from 15'bbs alloys with Toyo proxes tr1s, front and rear strut
brace and i have removed the spear wheel. i wasn't going balls to the wall
as i had a passenger and there was road works that day. (i wasn't trying to
brake lap records) i had the roof down and was having some fun. i feel that
it was a ok lap and worth putting on here to get some feedback from people
who have been to or are going to this amazing place.

Blyton Park Track Day 4th June 2012 - Mazda MX-5 Race Car #28
My first time driving this car, on a track day at Blyton Park.
First two sessions were 'drizzly' and 'torrential', but the car felt great
- unfortunately the camera had a fit and didn't record...

Max5 Racing Croft 28/04/12 - Phil Grayston Car 25 - MK1 1.6 MX5 - Class win
Max5 Racing Croft 28/04/12
Phil Grayston in his first race driving to a class win.
After a bad start Phil quickly got past Alan in the red MK3 car 42 @ 01:23
and settled into a quick pace.
However Rob Chilcot in the Blue MK1 car 84 was hot on his heels and put
Phil under a lot of pressure for much of the race. Phil did a cracking job
of holding him off. It cannot be seen from the camera but it was some
fantastic, close yet clean racing from both of them. Phil misses a gear on
the pit straight and Rob takes a lunge into Clervaux and gets past @ 16:37
Now its Phils turn to put Rob under some pressure. And pressure he does,
taking the inside line down to the complex and forcing Rob into a mistake @
17:42 Rob spins and Phil retakes the lead with a lap to go and cruises to
the finish. Great racing from both of them, well done chaps!
Phil went on to take the win on Sunday as well, Unfortunately it was too
wet to put the camera in the car. Shame as it was a cracking race. Very
An excellent weekends racing was had by all, many thanks to:
