The Sedan's average fuel consumption is a mere 8.0 liters per 100 km (29.40 US mpg) -- with an impressive performance: The S4 accelerates in 5.0 seconds from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) and achieves an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). The modified Audi S4 is identifiable from the changes to the headlights, the bumpers, the air inlets and colors. The interior also contains subtle changes in appearance. The S sport suspension and 18-inch wheels featured on the S4 deliver outstanding road grip. A bestseller has become even more attractive: Audi has updated the A4 series. New solutions for efficiency, driving dynamics and infotainment, along with an even more attractive design, attest the "Vorsprung durch Technik" achieved by the A4 Sedan, the A4 Avant, the A4 allroad quattro and the S4. Design The A4 is Audi's bestseller -- for 39 years now and in its eighth generation. The brand has sold ten million such models in total. The A4 Sedan and the Avant each have a length of 4.70 meters (15.42 ft), while the A4 allroad quattro and the S4 are 4.72 meters (15.49 ft) long. The wheelbases for all models are 2.81 meters (9.22 ft), and the width is 1.83 and 1.84 meters, respectively (6.0 and 6.04 ft). The height varies between 1.41 and 1.50 meters (4.63 and 4.92 ft) depending on the body version.

Quick, sophisticated and a sleeper in its own right, the S4 still tended to reserve itself for those who wanted solid performance and creature comforts but didn't necessarily pine for the M3's razor handling and steering precision and the C-Class AMG's raucous power. Well, 2013's S4 isn't lacking in any particular department but it isn't exactly rushing to show off with a boisterous aesthetic. What the S4 does do is provide its driver with a sporty and luxurious cabin, tech appointments to impress, and the kind of road experience that makes one crave that extra trip to the hardware store on the other side of town to get a completely useless item. A video compilation demonstrating the 2-step "launch control" feature of my custom VAST performance Stage 3 Frankenturbo tune. When the vehicle is stopped, the rev limit is set at 4,400 RPM for consistent launching. While holding this RPM, the turbos can produce up to about 6 psi with no load. With this setup, 0-60 mph times in the high 3's are obtainable with a quick 1-2 shift. The S4 also has piggie downpipes and a Borla single 3 inch Exhaust system. Some bonus footage of a coworker who had never ridden in a semi-fast car before is also included. :-) *edit* Unfortunately the girl in this video has passed away of Cystic Fibrosis (4/20/2013). RIP. 2013 Audi S4 Review by Automotive Trends
Roll the calendar back a handful of years and the Audi S4 used to be a bonafide sport sedan with a boisterous 4.2-liter V8 making 340 hp that put it well above its contemporaries in power and performance. We're a bit disappointed to report that in 2010 Audi retired the V8 in favor of a mildly tuned 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that achieves only 333 hp. During the same period progress has brought the class average up significantly with today's competition like the Cadillac ATS offering 321 hp and the Infiniti G37 offering 328 hp from their naturally aspirated V6s. So does the S4 still feel like a special sport sedan? We'd argue that by today's standards it'd probably take more like 400 hp to achieve that distinction. What it does feel like is a great top trim in the A4 lineup for customers who want a bit more juice than the 2.0-liter turbo four offers. Regardless, we like the S4 because it still offers a pleasing 6-speed manual, supportive sport seats, Audi's customizable Drive Select system and, of course, all-wheel drive traction for year round fun that makes the S4 a great partner for those of us in the Motor City. And we like the price range of $48k-$54k that keeps the S4 feeling like a bit of a value. What Audi needs to work on is the lifeless steering, bland interior design and getting that Supercharger to pay a few more dividends in the power ratings. If they can do that and maintain price the S4 would be back to sport sedan status faster than you can say, "What V8?!".
