Stooping to an all time new low by filming this in rebuttal to the comments on the speedo vid from the doubters. Actually I saw a doubter comment on my phone when I just happened to be approaching the ramp where I filmed it, so it worked out great.
Shelby GT500 acceleration
My stock 2007 Shelby GT500 accelerating to 80 MPH.
This car currently runs mid 11's at 124ish MPH.
I have won 15 trophies in bracket drag racing.
The video was made just casually on a chilly night with the car not even WOT.
LS1 WS6 with Longtubes, Xpipe, Dual Loudmouth II mufflers
Quick camera phone video for new Exhaust setup. Crappy sound quality. Sounds way better in person. Smooth, tame, yet noticeable Exhaust. Tailpipes to the bumper are on a flange, and easily installed and removed. Stock 3.42 gear 10bolt. (Now has a Moser 9" with 4.11s)
Mods that affect the sound: Patriot 225/229 .580/.590 114+4 cam, Pacesetter Longtubes, 3" x-pipe into dual SLP Loudmouth II mufflers dumped.

Why I love a V8
Torque is so much fun. To put this in perspective let me give you some horsepower numbers. At 3000rpm I am only making about 165whp. and at 4000rpm I am making about about 235whp. Not a big amount of horsepower. But at those same RPM's my V8 is making 290 tq and at 4000rpm I am making my peak tq of 310. So while my hp is down my car still accelerates fairly briskly. God I love a V8.
