BUILDING THE RHYS MILLEN RACING HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 4, 2008 In February, Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) approached Hyundai Motor America with a unique concept to introduce the all-new 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe to the aftermarket and racing enthusiasts prior to its spring 2009 on-sale date. The RMR-designed Art of Speed Genesis Coupe called for a vehicle with the visual impact to win awards at the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show while boasting sufficient performance to put the driver in the winners circle the following weekend. Backed by Rhys Millens reputation both on the track and in the aftermarket, Hyundai delivered its first prototype Genesis Coupe 2.0T to the RMR shop on August 8, allowing just 12 weeks of build time before the doors opened at SEMA in Las Vegas on November 4.
A crew of six RMR employees promptly stripped the car to bare metal. At the same time, the crew began custom-fabricating new aftermarket parts and accessories for the Genesis Coupe which are certain to be among the first available in the aftermarket once Hyundais newest addition takes to the streets next year.
In the weeks that followed, RMR developed a machine that retains the distinct, bold look of the Genesis Coupe, but adds flair with custom components on the exterior, a radically altered racing-spec interior and serious performance enhancements from under the hood all the way to the pavement.

Hyundai Crate Engines Overview @ SEMA - Genesis Coupe Lambda/Theta Crate Motors
http://www.autobytel.com/hyundai/?id=32972 Hyundai unveiled their all new
crate motor program at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Korean
automaker is now offering fresh engines straight from the factory, for
their fun to drive sport compact the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. With the 2013
model year refresh, the Gen Coupe got a 380 HP V6 or a 275 HP turbocharged four cylinder. Now these motors are
available directly from your local Hyundai dealer with the 3.8 Liter GDI V6
starting at $9000 (a 25% savings vs list price) and the 2.0 Liter four
banger comes complete with twin scroll turbocharger, Intercooler and all the necessary
accessories to get the Boosted lump
running for $6000 and for $1500 fewer tuners can get a bare bones 4B11

you decide to go with forced induction. Otherwise, as is usually the case
when it comes to tuning, the sky is the limit.

Rhys Millen's - Hyundai Genesis RM 460 at the SEMA Show 2009
Forget the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo FQ400 or the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec-C
RA-R. If youre looking for the ultimate manifestation of a production
street car, few can top this Hyundai Genesis Coupe built by Rhys Millen
Motorsports RMR). While the title RM 460 isnt quite as long or overwhelming
as the others, it far exceeds the competition when it comes to the
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T - 19T turbo upgrade - High speed runs - Go Pro HD
This was taken during a street tuning session in my Hyundai Genesis Coupe
2.0T after modifying the Boost map,
the bright thing in the lower right is the laptop ;)
TD04HL-19T turbo upgrade with supporting
mods at 18 psi low end, 20+ psi mid and high end. I was targeting 22 psi
but It did not really work out, so it is probably a little slower than
before due to a milder low end. I'll make a new map soon targeting 22 psi
at 3500 rpm or so and holding it as long as possible.
There are several runs, including 0 to 200 kph. I am not launching very
hard for 2 reasons: I wanted to spare the clutch, The goal of the session
was to log data and tune the engine, not to make the best quarter mile ;)
Wind noises come from the passenger window, slightly open to let in the
cable from the engine bay to the laptop.
