Slathered in Lamborghini orange paint and exuding a presence that is
anything but subtle, this 1959 Bonneville is a car that represents a peak
time in American automotive design. It was drafted before government
mandates and regulations stifled imagination and creativity, and takes us
back to an era when we still looked to the stars for inspiration. This is a
car that will stop you dead in your tracks and make you truly long for the
days when chrome was King, gas was a mere .25¢ per gallon, and where Elvis
Presley was the greatest thing the public had ever heard.

work was completed in the early 1960s.

Epic Lambrecht Chevrolet Auction - Wheels of Misfortune
If you missed this incredible auction in person, this is the vid to watch!
Chevrolet Dealer Ray Lambrecht of Pierce, Nebraska, hoarded about 500 cars
and trucks during his over 50 years in business. Many of these vechicles
were new or low mileage trade-ins. At this auction Sept 28 - 29 2013, they
were all finally set free and sold to the highest bidder. Most were badly
weathered hulks after 40 - 50 or more years of exposure. A handful were
breathtakingly original gems. At least two local folks who traded thier
cars 40+ years ago bought them back. The crowd was huge. Prices were
extrodinary. The sale totaled slightly over $3 million including buyer's
fee making this the richest crop ever sold at the Lambrecht farm. Truly
this was a once-in-a-lifetime field of dreams and memories.Enjoy.
Ride in 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air
This is my 59 Bel Air. I am the second owner, and have owned the car since
March 1978. I paid $75.00 for it, with 58,000 miles at that time. It is
still mostly original, other than it has been repainted, by me, in 1984.
Dashboard still has the factory original paint and gauges. Everything on
the car works great.
Options are, clock, deluxe heater, two speed electric wipers, AM
radio,Tissue Dispenser, parking brake alarm...blinking red light in very
beginning of video... EZI glass...tinted, rocker moldings, vent shades and
license plate pocket guard...gas filler is behind license plate.
The engine is a 348 cid 250 hp turbo
Thrust V-8, that has never been overhauled. It has a 4-Jet Rochester carb.
The power steering is driven off the rear of the generator...yes it has a
DC generator....not a AC alternator with diodes to change the AC to DC
current. Power brakes are Boosted by
factory Bendix Booster. Trans is a 3
speed manual and axle ratio is 3.36 to1.
Driving it from Michigan to Georgia it got 18 mpg and used no oil.
