Cougar Buying Guide Ep.2 - 1967 XR-7 289
In this video, Don does a detailed inspection on a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 to show some of the things you should look for when buying one of these classic cars. Some of the insight here can potentially save you hundreds, even thousands, when you go to negotiate with a seller. Also, it will help those of you trying to sell, to more accurately advertise the strengths and weaknesses of your car. We've also done a similar video with a 1970 Cougar convertible, so you may want to check that out too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fizb2vo68vA To look up the parts mentioned in this video, visit http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com Subscribe to our channel to keep up with our latest uploads! 1954 Mercury Sports Coupe 6-Passenger Now Featured In Our Milwaukee Showroom #185-MWK
Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is proud to feature this immaculate 1954 Mercury Sports Coupe which is part show car, and part high performance hot rod. This Mercury is powered by a crate engine 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet rated at 450 horsepower which is transferred to a turbo-350 automatic transmission that effortlessly shifts between gears and grips the road with a set of aluminum 5-spoke wheels on lower profile tires for added stability and stylish looks. The real show-stopper aspect though, is the fresh pitch black Dupont paint that was so well laid over the curvy body. Complementing the paint is a newly restored maroon vinyl interior and chrome trim accents. As you slide into the driver’s seat, you will most likely notice one of the most unique features on this car which are the controls mounted right behind the steering wheel. Even with the interior completely restored, there is a certain nostalgic feeling you get as you drive it with the stylish designs fresh from the 50’s. The ride quality is smooth and the more modern style of wheel gives the driver more confidence in the corners. This is the perfect car for someone looking to turn heads as they pull into their local cruise night and maybe win a couple of awards on the weekends. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1954 Mercury Sports Coupe in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (262)-891-4253 or email us at Milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com.

The Story Of Cougar 1: The First Mercury Cougar
A while back, we sat down with Jim Pinkerton, the owner of the very first production Mercury Cougar (1967 model year), a.k.a. Cougar 1. We hit the "record" button on our cameras and he let loose with an epic tale of how the car was first sold in Canada, its subsequent life there, and how it eventually got into his hands - an intriguing story! He also goes over some of the unique features of the car, and some of the restoration techniques used. It's a truly beautiful factory show car with more attention to detail than the 'average' Cougar. Special thanks to Jim Pinkerton for his time, and for providing most of the images you see in this video from his own collection of Cougar memorabilia.
