Toyota Reveals FT-1 Concept at North American International Auto Show 2014 | Toyota
Calty Design Research President Kevin Hunter introduces the Toyota FT-1
sports car concept at the North American International Auto Show in
Detroit, Jan. 13, 2014. First devised by Calty in Sony PlayStation's Gran
Turismo 6, the name FT-1 stands for "Future Toyota," and the number "1"
represents the ultimate. According to its designers at Calty Design
Research, the FT-1 Concept is the ultimate expression of a Toyota coupe
design, building upon Toyota's rich sports coupe heritage dating back to
the 2000GT, Celica, Supra, MR2 and most recently Scion FR-S. For more on
the FT-1, visit http://www.toyota.com/concept-vehicles/

Does Lacquer Thinner Clean Catalytic Converters? -EricTheCarGuy
Link to Scotty Kilmer's Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5icTmYItwiE
After watching Scotty's video I was curious if it would actually work.
Since we know from my video on diagnosing catalytic converters that the
catalytic converters in my Subaru were bad, I though it was a perfect
opportunity to try out this theory. I used about 1 quart of lacquer thinner
to about 7 gallons of gas. I drove a total of 200 miles and tested the
converters. The testing showed a very slight improvement but nothing that I
would call significant. It was worth a try. I can say that I did not notice
any issues with drivability during or after the test. It may not have fixed
the problem, but it didn't seem to cause any other problems either. I feel
the check engine light that came on was just a coincidence and not the
result of putting lacquer thinner in the gas tank. Here's some useful links

Timing Belt / Waterpump Replacement: Toyota & Lexus V6
Step by step DIY Video on how to replace the timing belt, waterpump,
camshaft and crankshaft seals, idler pulleys and tensioner on a Toyota or
Lexus with a V6 engine.
Procedure is the same for all 1994-2006 1MZ-FE (3.0L) and 3MZ-FE (3.3L)
engines, with the newer engines differing only in the timing belt tensioner
Procedure is straight forward starting with the removal of the dog bone
mount, engine support bracket, alternator and power steering belts, crank
pulley (harmonic balancer) and timing belt covers.
Once access to the timing belt is achieved, the tensioner is released so
the belt can be removed. The camshafts should be removed to get to the
waterpump, otherwise two studs running through the waterpump have to be
Special tools required are an impact wrench and air ratchet (not
mandatory), a seal puller, a pulley puller, torque wrench, and a crankshaft
and camshaft holding tool.
This job should take 4 hours for a DIY'er with moderate mechanical
aptitude. The Aisin timing belt kit with waterpump from RockAuto was used.
After the removal of the cam and crank bolts, the hardest part of this job
was dealing with the rear camshaft seal and aligning it with the marks on
the timing belt. Access is tight near the fender wall and removing the
power steering fluid line and reservoir is recommended.
Adding an Auxillary Input to a Toyota JBL Stereo
How to hack an Aux input on a Toyota JBL Stereo from a 1999 Toyota Solara.
Model # Fujitsu Ten 122000-09200101 or Toyota part number 86120-AA020.
Also illustrates the process of removing and installing the stereo from a
97-01 Camry and 99-03 Solara.
The hack relies on being able to trace the output from the tape deck to the
equalizer. Solder two R&L wires to the output pins of the equalizer chip,
which in this case was clearly labeled on the motherboard. Use a 3.5mm
stereo extension to route the wires outside the stereo into the console,
where you can connect an MP3 player, phone, bluetooth headset, iPod or
Enable the tape or FM radio mode to open the auxiliary port. Mine will
automatically over-ride the audio coming from the FM source. The tape head
can be disconnected to remove static.
