The car is equipped with a 427 SBF fed by twin turbonetics T-76 turbos, ptc converter and trans, FAST engine management and an AMS-100. Texas Mile Corvette Crash - March 2011
The Texas Mile record holder for a Corvette at 224mph! This Corvette was built by Hinson Motorsports - over 1400rwhp I don't have the 224mph pass on video but I caught the 221mph pass. It looks like one of the tires went out and caused the car to veer hard to the right. The driver was ok, he walked away from the crash. This Mustang GT uses Borla S-Type Catback Exhaust. Sorry. Recorded at a parking lot, there was not enough road to accelerate as it should be. The owner and driver, Andrew MacDonald, made it look easy, setting the record at 215.3mph in his street legal 2008 Ford Shelby GT500. Since the vehicle did not have an 8pt cage installed, the maximum allowed speed was 215mph for vehicles with a 4pt roll bar.
