1987 Shelby Charger GLHS #477 - Engine - FOR SALE BY OWNER - October, 2012
IF INTERESTED, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT 1987chargerglhs477@gmail.comSEE PICTURES AT http://1987chargerglhs477.wordpress.com/ This car has a little over 51,000 actual and documented miles at the time of this video upload. The turbo is very strong, does not blow any blue smoke or burn oil. The engine compartment is still real clean. I removed the air conditioning compressor, refrigerant lines and condenser back in 1997. The previous owner said that the compressor seal had leaked oil (which is evident from the oil streak on the hood blanket) and never got it repaired. Honestly, I never cared to repair it either. Any 4-cylinder engine I've owned totally sucked when the air conditioning compressor kicked on. But all of the parts are included. Aside from the compressor seal, all of the other parts including the condenser appears to be in very good shape. The Koni adjustable shocks & struts are original and have not leaked. They work excellent (I've always had them on the lowest setting) and include the adjustment key. The driver-side ball joint dust boot has had a split in it since the day I owned it. I bought an original Mopar stock ball joint with intentions on getting it replaced but never had the time. There is a slight rattle from it but it is nothing that I felt needed to be replaced immediately. I installed a K&N air filter, replaced the charge air temperature sensor, resealed the valve cover the proper way, replaced the Hall-effect sensor, and cap/rotor and wires. The oil pan should eventually be resealed, as it shows a small drop after a full week of driving. Again, nothing that I would say needs to be done right away. With the Mopar Performance Stage II computer, I've installed Bosch Platinum spark plugs that is one hotter than specified by the Shelby engine decal up by the radiator panel. If you look close in front of the radiator, I've installed a bug screen to protect the fins of the radiator and Intercooler. It hasn't affected cooling at all, and the fins aren't smushed over from stones. It can be removed if desired, but I would keep it on. You will also see a reversed-stamped VIN on the body next to the driver headlight that matches the vehicle VIN. This will prove that the car is a true GLHS and not a clone. I've modified the backer plate under the hood vent. Originally it was completely blocked off by Shelby. However, I felt it was important to relieve underhood heat when the engine was shut off, so I made and installed an aluminum scoop which helped to vent the heat while funneling rain water away from the motor. It just made sense. The sunroof can be raised, or removed and stored in the trunk, and does not leak.

1984 DODGE SHELBY CHARGER -- ANOTHER RARE SHELBY CREATION
For 1983, Carroll Shelby modified the Dodge Charger, to be sold at Dodge dealers as the Dodge Shelby Charger. Rather than focusing on speed, Shelby modified the suspension and styling. The engine compression was raised for 107 hp, and the manual transmission had revised ratios. Shorter springs, special wheels, and tires complemented stronger brakes and quicker steering. Outside, a new nose and racing stripes accented the performance image. The body kits, among other parts, were often shipped to dealerships along with the car to be put on after delivery. The reasoning behind this varied, but was said to speed delivery and compensate for ground clearance issues that the cars faced on many car carriers. Production was 8,251 for that first year. For 1984, the Shelby Charger could be ordered with an optional automatic transmission. There were 7,552 Shelby Chargers sold this model year. The high-output engine, now up to 110 hp was also available in baseline Chargers and Turismos. The MPFI/turbocharged turbo I engine, commonly known as a 'T1' was added for Dodge's 1985 Shelby Charger. This engine produced 146 hp and was changed from its first appearance in the Dodge Daytona turbo during the previous year. A Garrett AiResearch T3 turbocharger and Chrysler/Bosch multiple-point fuel injection enabled the 2.2 L engine to produce the additional horsepower. A total of 7,709 Shelby Chargers were made for the 1985 model year, and 7,669 in 1986. 1987 was the final year, with just 1,011 produced. How many of these Shelby creations exist today? Most likely just several hundred of all the years these were made. Always a pleasure to see a rare car especially in this condition. Thanks very much for viewing this rare 1984 Dodge Shelby Charger.

Test Drive 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona 440 V8
It's not often that we get to look at a car like this one. It's an original 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. This beast is one of only 503 Daytona's built and it's in truly immaculate condition. It's still powered by the original 440 V8 4 BBL, factory rated at 375 HP and 480 Lb-Ft of torque. This is one of the famous winged cars, that forced rule changes in Nascar after breaking all the speed records at the time. It's painted in the correct T5 Copper paint and it's riding on a beautiful set of Magnum 500 chrome rims, with white letter tires. This is definitely one of the most collectible Mopar's of all time and one of the most sought after muscle cars of any type. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!
