He scrambles to get it fixed with only a week to the Shootout, then the following Wednesday 8/15/12 he makes some passes and figures out the driveshaft is bent and severely vibrating. Only a day before the Shootout begins and he needs a new evo 1-3 driveshaft, what will he do? Find out.... Ryan P's 4g63 AWD Mirage at New England Dragway 4/13/2012. Quote from Ryan about the night: "Finally 60'ed the damn thing and it directly effected the ET. Well, there is more to it than that... Of the trailer the car was running ok due to many attempts to make it run well in the past. Needless to say it was all f'ed up. Kevin came over and pointed out a few things which got changed. It actually made the car run worse than before. We did some more adjustments and he changed some settings the car ran ten times better. At this point the car was ready I made a two three pull so see where we were at. It responded well so I rode it out to a 134 mph if I recall. Kevin tuned some more and tried two more runs and the car would not shift. Locked out of 4th one and 3rd the other. I figured something was wrong with the trans, but luckily I had a Shep Trans Rep there to look it over. Thanks Mike, I had a washer that was binding up the linkage. Just took that out and found that it shifts like it should. Made the pass and it felt pretty good! I could feel the thing down on power top end. I knew it was a better 60' and I was more anxious to see the slip to see the 60' then the ET." -stock intake manifold, stock turbo throttle body. New England DSM

WORLDS FASTEST AWD / 4G63 DATSUN / 20B RX7 IN TESTING
Willowbank Raceway held the 1st of the 2012 Top Sportman Series on the weekend. Reece McGregor and the Heat Treatments Skyline thought it would be a good chance to have some test runs in their worlds fastest RB26 powered 4wd skyline. The team worked hard all day and were rewarded with a final pass or 7.64, not far off their 7.56 record, although something tells me theres plenty more to come from this car again. Another car using the test lane was Rob Novak in his Jett Racing 4G63 powered Datsun 1200. The team made adjustments through the day and saw a PB 7.35 @ 187mph on the second last pass of the night, the final wild pass on video then saw a transmission failure but a happy team none the less. Final team testing was the Direct Clutch/Promodz Rx7, the car is 3/4 chassis and a running 3rotor 20BT tweaked by Mazfix. The team recently made adjustments in the rear and also in transmission and are starting to see results, it ran a 7.99 @ 171mph through the day, then later in the night suffered a leaking Boost pipe. Owners Jerry and Dan tell me they havent even started to push the motor yet, so another car with plenty more to come, and im sure that pb 7.80 will soon be slashed.
