Bentley Continental GT review - CarBuyer

Bentley Continental GT 2014 review: http://bit.ly/1bKvVXx Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb The Bentley Continental GT is a stylish, luxury performance car that is designed to carry up to four people in supreme comfort at speeds of up to 200mph. Boasting sharper styling, and with a considerable weight saving, the second generation Bentley Continental GT has slightly better fuel consumption and lower emissions than the outgoing model. The luxury interior maintains a sporting theme combining hand-crafted wood, leather and aluminium. The GT comes with a choice of two engines, a tweaked version of the proven twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 unit, which is available in the standard GT and the even more powerful GT Speed. Then there's a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 that returns combined economy of 27mpg - 10mpg more than the W12. Driving all four wheels through a six or eight speed automatic gearbox, performance is very impressive. Competition comes in the form of Aston Martin's Virage and the Ferrari California. It looks and feels enormous, whether you opt for the saloon or estate version, and the styling is very distinctive, especially when compared to the Audi A6, Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series. The 300C can't match its rivals in the driving department, but the interior is comfortable and the soft ride is comfortable on longer journeys. The diesel engine is a better option than the thirsty V8 petrol model, an all models get high levels of standard equipment.

Renault Twizy review - CarBuyer
Renault Twizy 2014 review: http://bit.ly/1gbzo63 Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb The electric Renault Twizy city car offers urban drivers something genuinely different -- if you can live with its inherent limitations. The electric Renault Twizy is a revolution in personal transport. The futuristically styled car offers space for two, sitting in tandem, and its small size means it is perfect for driving around and parking in town. It is charged via your home supply: 3.5 hours will see it completely topped up, at a cost of around £1. This will allow a claimed range of 34-62 miles depending on the demands of the traffic conditions. Although the futuristic, 'open-plan' styling may be something of an acquired taste, the innovative Twizy starts to make more sense if you think of it as a scooter with a roof rather than a car with, in its most basic form, open sides -- and no heater. In the UK, the Twizy will be called the Renault Twizy 80 ('80' refers to its top speed in km/h).

Audi R8 coupe 2013 review - CarBuyer
Audi R8 2014 full review: http://bit.ly/zeREJZ Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb Audi shocked the industry when it introduced its stunning R8 supercar in 2006. It was the German company's first demonstration of how it could compete with the established supercar giants with only a little help from Lamborghini -- a sub-brand of the VW Group. As a result, the Audi R8 shares some DNA with the Lamborghini Gallardo, but is far cheaper to buy and easier to drive, without losing any sense of occasion or its head turning looks. A supercar that you really can use everyday, the R8 may not be particularly practical, but it's genuinely comfortable and comes keenly priced if you avoid the extensive options list. That said, a host of updates at the start of 2013 improved equipment, with all cars getting LED headlights, sat-nav and heated leather seats as standard. There is a choice of V8 and V10, with a faster V10 Plus model for those craving a little more power and an even sportier drive. Mat: When Audi introduced the R8 in 2008 they proved to the world they could make a supercar that can compete with the Ferrari and Lamborghini. Yet because it's an Audi it's almost as easy to live with as an A3! But now to keep the R8 feeling fresh Audi has just updated it with some design tweaks. There's restyled nose with all LED lamps while the back features new Exhaust surrounds and the coolest indicators in the world. Audi has also added a new model to the range. It's called the V10 Plus and gets a more aggressive chassis set up, a 25bhp power upgrade over the normal V10, ceramic brakes and plenty of carbon fiber. It even has more carbon fiber inside such has here on the dash and gets bucket seats as standard. However, Audi has upped the equipment list on the other models too. The normal V10 now gets extended leather while all versions now come with sat-nav, iPod connectivity, heated seats and mobile phone preparation standard. The R8 has the classic mid-engined super car set up. You can go for a 4.2-litre V8 version with 424hp, which can 0-62mph in around four and a half seconds. But while that's easily fast enough you don't want that one because that engine is also available in an A4 Estate car. What you want is the V10 because not only does it have over 500bhp the engine comes from a Lamborghini Gallardo and it makes the R8 not only feel and sound like a true supercar. If there was one problem with the old R8 it was that it's auto box was a bit rubbish. But I have some good news. Audi has given the R8 a new dual clutch seven speed automatic gearbox which is brilliant. It's so good I'd recommend it over the manual. In auto mode it's smooth enough for pottering round town and if you want to change gears yourself using the paddles the car will swap cogs faster than you can blink. There's another benefit to the automatic model. It includes launch control and when engaged the 543bhp V10 Plus can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. Okay to operate it I put my foot on the brake, select sport mode for the gearbox and the stability control, floor the throttle then release the brake.... And that's 60 I better back off, I don't want to brake the law. We don't do that here at CarBuyer. To be fair it's quite easy to find yourself above the speed limit in the R8 is so easy to drive fast. The all wheel drive system provides oodles of grip, the steering is sharp and unless you have a spirit level you won't notice any lean through corners. This is a super car which will flatter the novice with it's balance and stability yet it's capability and rear-drive bias means it will entertain the expert too. On top of all this the R8 is very comfy for a supercar, especially if you go for the magnetic ride adaptable suspension which is standard on the V10. Unfortunately this V10 plus doesn't have them. Instead it gets bespoke lowered stiffer fixed spring suspension. And while this, revised steering and the carbon ceramic brakes make it even better to drive on track they don't make it better to drive on the road, which if you are honest is where you'll be driving your R8 most of the time.... As for other problems, the cabin may be well built, however the design is starting to look a little dated, especially the infotainment system which doesn't even come with digital radio. And seeing as this is a CarBuyer review we need to talk about practicality. Yes it's supercar so it's never going to be very good but R8's meagre storage makes even a Porsche 911 seem like family friendly transport. Finally there's the high running costs and the price, but actually compared to other supercars this Audi is incredible value. And really there are few cars even at twice the price, which can turn heads like the R8 especially this V10 Plus in matte blue paint. Job done.

Both petrol models boast 0-62mph times under 7 seconds, with the quickest even dipping under the six second barrier. A stiff set-up means it corners well too but it's worth taking a test drive to see if the ride is soft enough to live with on a daily basis. Jaguar F-Type 2013 review - CarBuyer
Jaguar F-Type 2014 review: http://bit.ly/11gj4dK Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb "The Jaguar F-Type is a stylish and desirable two-seater sports car that's brilliant to drive." Yes, it's been a long time coming hasn't it? But Jaguar has finally got round to building a two seater sports car again - ladies and gentlemen I give you the F-Type This car is clearly the spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type. But don't expect any retro olde-worldey styling here. This is a thoroughly modern looking sports car with an all aluminium body that's been designed to slip through the air as effortlessly as possible. Inside, F-Type feels every inch a true sports car with a dash is angled towards the driver and body hugging sports seats that hold you firmly in place. It's got some really nice touches too such as heater vents which stay hidden until they are needed. Jaguar set out to create a really sharp handling and fun sports car with the F-Type and let me assure you they have done just that. The steering is nice and quick yet the car is never twitchy. And in the corners this thing just stays completely flat and grips and grips. Yet when you are just cruising along the adaptive dampers make sure that its still a comfy car to travel in. And if you tire of having the wind in your hair you can easily raise the roof on the move at up to 30mph. And with it up the F-Type is a surprisingly quiet car to travel in.... so long as you don't put the car in dynamic mode as this brings the active Exhaust into play. In sport mode you also get a sharper throttle response, weighted steering, stiffer suspension and faster shifts from the excellent paddle shift eight speed automatic gearbox. You can get the F-Type in three different flavours. This is the range-topping 488bhp 5.0litre supercharged V8S and its absolutely mental. But you don't actually want it. The one you want is the 3.0-litre supercharge V6 S - it still has 375bhp and can do 0-62 mpg in about 5 seconds and being less nose heavy is actually sharper to drive. The car you don't want is the entry level 335bhp V6. It's still quick enough but it doesn't get the adaptive dampers, nor active Exhaust, nor a limited slip differential like the other cars do. And those bits of kit are important. Believe me they are. There are some other issues with the F-Type too. The touch screen infotainment system is a bit old and awkward to use. While Jaguar has taken a leaf out of Porsches book by charging for stuff that should be standard like a wind deflector. Speaking of which, poor in car storage and a boot that's' not only tiny but is an awkward shape means the F-Type isn't as practical as a Boxster which is not only cheaper but if I'm honest even better to drive too. Still, the difference is marginal and if you ask me this is far the more manly looking car. In fact Jaguar should be proud of the F-Type, it proves that after all these years it still knows how to build a cracking two-seater sports car.

Porsche Panamera (2009-2013) review - CarBuyer
Porsche Panamera 2014 review: http://bit.ly/1d9RuXZ Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb Porsche could be criticised for being lacking a sense of adventure when it comes to design, but its dedication to providing a fantastic driving experience shines through with the Panamera. This oddly proportioned hatchback is Porsche's first 'saloon', yet the German firm has injected it with the DNA of a sports car.
