134370 / 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/khz6ean With an extensive list of top-shelf engine modifications, this expertly restored 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger is a no-compromises car that is dollar for dollar, more fun than anything else you can buy. Benefitting from a recent frame up restoration, this Dodge Dart still retains all of its original sheetmetal. The cars solid panels were straightened and sanded until everything lined up just right and then covered in original Chrysler code GF3 Light Green Metallic and a gloss white Swinger stripe. Up front, a showroom fresh grille spans the entire width of the car and houses correct headlights and marker lights that function perfectly. On top of the hood, a Duster scoop, complete with chrome "360" emblems, sits on the cars central body line and provides an aggressive look that goes great with new for 1973 front end styling. The profile of the car combines the modern look of late 60s and early 70s design with fender lines that kick up right behind the doors to provide the classic 'coke bottle shape' introduced in the 50s. At the back of the car, ridged fenders flow into another broad show worthy chrome bumper which houses four great looking silver trimmed tail lights. This is one slick car that someone spent a lot of time perfecting. Open the light green hood and check out the cars stout Mopar Performance 360 crate motor that has been completely disassembled and enlarged to 408 cubic inches. On top of the motor, a Holley 750 double pumper grabs air through a chrome air filter with a reusable filter element and sucks fuel from stainless fuel lines that are complete with a Summit fuel pressure gauge. That air-fuel mixture goes through a Mopar M1 single plane intake into Magnum R/T high flow aluminum heads that have been street ported, street polished and rebuilt with Manley stainless valves. The fuel is sparked by an MSD Blaster coil and Chrysler Electronic ignition system, which was new for 1973, and sends fire through Accel racing wires. Sportsman Racing Products pistons, rings and connecting rods combine with an Eagle crank and Clevite bearings to provide an 11.8:1 compression ratio. Exhaust gases then exit through coated TTI long tube headers into a 3 inch Exhaust system equipped with Magnaflow mufflers. The engine bay is spotless and has been coated in body matching code GF3 Light Green Metallic which carries the same gloss as the cars exterior body panels. Under the car a 904 3-speed automatic features a Coan Racing 3800 stall converter, a full reverse manual valve body and an auxiliary cooler mounted in front of the cars radiator. That tough transmission twists a custom driveshaft that is connected to an 8 ¾ limited slip rear end that houses Moser axles and Richmond Sure Grip 3.91 gears. Holding this awesome driveline into place is a factory torsion bar front suspension and a factory rear suspension with Mopar Super Stock leaf springs and adjustable air shocks. At the corners, a full set of Weld Pro Star wheels wearing 215/60 front and 235/60 rear BF Goodrich radials give the car a ton of attitude.— The restored to original Chrysler code D2F6 green vinyl bench interior is in great shape and shows little to no wear. There's a very informative Auto Meter Sport Comp tachometer on the column and a matching trio of Autometer gauges under the dash, but those are the only signs of progress from the driver's seat. The original dash shows no signs of weathering and houses correct gauges that are wrapped in correct wood applique. To the right of the gauges, an old school Sparkomatic deck sends sound to a pair of Panasonic 6x9's in the rear package tray. The dark green door panels are in excellent shape and feature only chrome door handles and chrome window cranks for ornamentation. The original steering wheel and original column are color matched to the dash and feature a chrome shifter for the 904 transmission and a correct green horn button. This 1973 Dart is a solid build with a tight motor that is beautifully finished and would certainly cost two or three times our asking price if you wanted to build it yourself. 134042 / 1969 Dodge Dart GTS
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/d4rsad8 Assembled as a run-of-the-mill 383 car, then transformed into a 440-powered strip streak by the Hurst-Campbell Corporation, this Dodge is one of only 640 M-code Darts produced for the 1969 model year. Most of those big engine warriors were sold to drag racers who needed something tough to whip at the track and, as a result, Chrysler expert Galen Govier estimates that only 30 still exist. The beneficiary of a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration that, by the looks of the car, was probably completed sometime late last year, this stunning Dodge coupe has been fully rebuilt from its frame rails all the way to its correct chrome drip rails. Take a good look at our photographer's highly detailed pictures and you'll see one slick Mopar that's obviously logged very few miles since it was thoroughly shaken down. Naturally, two-stage urethane was chosen to accurately reproduce Chrysler's code F8 Dark Green finish. And on the outside of that two-stage, a correct white bumble bee stripe perfectly frames the car's razor-sharp quarter panels. Original to the car, and subsequently branded with a 2536430 casting number, a late 1968 casting date and a correct partial VIN, this fully restored mill makes a Dyno-proven 258 horsepower and 298 lb./ft. of torque at the chassis' spin-happy rear wheels! That side-stepping rampage begins when oxygen filters through an organisol covered and "440 MAGNUM" branded air cleaner to a large Carter carburetor and a correct cast iron intake. At the sides of that intake, stamped steel valve covers cap original 440 heads which bark into fully restored Exhaust manifolds. At the front of those valve covers, sparks are sequenced from a reproduction coil to Chrysler Electronic Suppression Wires via a traditional points distributor. And in front of that coil, a heavy duty radiator circulates water through reproduction Chrysler hoses and old school squeeze clamps. Behind the big motor, a date-correct A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic takes care of gear selection while an 8.75 inch rear end puts the power to the pavement. Around that drivetrain, an OEM-style chassis remains in place with torsion bars up front and parallel leafs out back. Cool and confident stops are provided by a full set of manual drum brakes. And at the corners of the floor, 14 inch steel wheels spin E70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport redlines around chrome 'dog dish' hub caps. According to this Dart's fender tag, that nostalgic green interior is indeed factory-correct equipment. And, while many muscle car fans might prefer a traditional 'coal chamber' cockpit, there's no denying this coupe's unique presence. The first thing that catches your eye is a trio of rebuilt bucket and bench seats that are firm to the touch and feature tightly-pleated covers. A warp-free dash anchors intricate gauges and an old school Dart Solid State radio in an attractive V-shaped contour. And the driver spins a simple black steering wheel around a fratzog branded hub pad. If you're ready to hit the streets in one of the rawest and most brutal muscle cars to ever roll out of Detroit, don't miss the chance to own this first class Dodge A-body! 1968 Charger / 1969 Daytona - /BIG MUSCLE Garage
The 1968 Dodge Charger and the 1969 Dodge Daytona. Two cars based off the same platform with very different personalities. These two old sleds are different though, 'cause well, they belong to me (your host) and they're the reason that BIG MUSCLE exists today. These are not show ponies, cruisers or weekend projects, but two warhorses that have been run in some of the toughest long distance and performance events in the United States. Built for reliability, power and performance, they are not technological marvels, but old school resto-mods that have been updated for one reason and one reason only - to put smiles on the faces of all those who see them.
