how to do zinc plating of metal parts for corrosion protection diy electroplating
Here I demonstrate my DIY process of garage zinc electroplating using my custom café racer motorcycle part. Easy way to protect metal parts from rust and corrosion by using zinc plating on those old care and motorcycle project parts How to make your own parts tumbler: https://youtu.be/DGT20ghWMZA Send me stuff ! Yes- I actually do send stickers out to those who contribute bits, parts, stuff for my projects and pretty much everyone who I talk about or thank in my videos. If you want to send me bike stuff, things for potential use in videos or tools to review etc. (or even just cash donations ! ) mail them to me: Ichiban Moto PO Box 1362 Highland Park, IL 60035 USA Yes- you can just buy Ichiban Moto stickers - they are on ebay. If you don't have ebay/ paypal, you may mail me a minimum donation of $1 per sticker- along with your self addressed and stamped envelope. Stickers and donations are how I fund this fun !
Nickel Plating, Do it Yourself
Nickel Plating using a Caswell kit
In this video I will show the electrolysis rust removal process. It's simple and very efficient way to remove light or heavy rust. Anyone can do this without spending money on rust removal products. Please visit my site: http://www.flamingfurnace.com/2012/04/electrolysis-rust-removal.html
Easy And Inexpensive Copper Plating Trick!
Simple, cheap, and reliable way to copper plate metals. This video is just an "extra" info video for the nickel/copper plating video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Xo43sfLgY Please check out the the main video for a more in depth instructional. Thanks! Just got this from a plater regarding stacking cells in parallel: Hello, I watched your copper plating video and then went to your site where someone suggested wiring batteries in parallel to achieve higher amperage and thus increase plating time. in the discussion of amperage one needs to observe the ohms law. To be more accurate the resistance of the liquid that the plating is done in, needs to be known. Because current can be increased two ways. One way is to decrease resistance ( use a liquid with lower resistance) the other way is to increase voltage. You cannot just increase amperage by putting batteries in parallel unless the resistance of the liquid is so low that the battery cannot supply the amperage in which case it goes dead very fast.
