My 93 Ford Aerostar Starts Up After A 7 Year Sleep
Starting it to take it with me when my house gets sold once the water
damage is repaired. As I was trying to rock it out of the ground it because
it sunk in over the years I did a small burnout with it in the dirt.
By the way, doing a burnout with the door open like that. Bad idea, as you
can see that I smoked my own ass out. lol
This van has served me well. My family took me and my brother on road trips
with it and then I took it on my own road trips when I was using it
I parked it in my backyard by my storage unit in 2007 and it hasn't ran or
moved since until 1-15-2014. The reason why I parked it was because the
overdrive goes on and off until it reaches 70 mph. That and I have to add a
quart of oil to the engine before reaching 3,000 miles on an oil change.
But it survived my mother over heating it in it's early life before I owned
it. It has 271,000 miles on it and I didn't think that it was going to
start after sitting for so long with seven year old gas in the tank. But
you can see the look on my face in the video that I was impressed that it
did. Just by putting a battery in it and getting the starter to loosen up
and finally turn the engine over.
The reason why I broke the passenger side window is because the door was
stuck shut and I was trying to get it open.
Why did I park it instead of getting rid of it? Well original I was saving
it to take it to Dave's Farm and finish what ever life it had left in it
over there. But now I have a new idea. I'm going to take it to a Demolition
Derby and have fun with it before junking it. It had a good life and run
and now we party.

The Ford Aerostar is a minivan produced by Ford Motor Company for the North
American market; the first such design by Ford, it was sold from the 1986
to the 1997 model years. It was sold in both passenger van and cargo van
configurations in two body lengths with both rear wheel drive and all wheel
drive configurations. The Aerostar was sold only under the Ford brand; the
first minivan sold by the Lincoln-Mercury division was the 1993 Mercury
Villager. Production was ended after the 1997 model year after its
replacement by the Windstar in the 1995 model year; both product lines were
sold from 1995-1997. The role of the Aerostar cargo van was left unfilled
until the 2010 introduction of the Transit Connect.
The aerodynamic styling (.37 coefficient of drag) resembled the Ford Taurus
introduced alongside it for 1986. An early commercial ad campaign compared
the side profile of the Aerostar to that of the NASA Space Shuttle. For
much of its later life, the Aerostar would be marketed as part of Ford's
For 1992, the Aerostar received minor design changes on the exterior to
improve its aerodynamics. Although no sheetmetal was changed, the Aerostar
now had an updated front end. To live up to the "aero" part of its name,
the sealed-beam headlamps were replaced by replaceable-bulb composite
units. The front turn signal lenses changed from all-amber to mostly clear.
The grille insert was changed yet again, moving the Ford logo from the
center to the top third of the grille. This was done to match the similarly
redesigned Econoline and the then-new Explorer. The Aerostar's distinctive
A-pillar windows were blacked out further to look slightly smaller. On XLT
wagons, two-tone paint was an option; instead of the Eddie Bauer tan,
silver was the typical accent color. On vans with two-tone paint, bumpers
were now painted completely body-color; gray bumpers were still fitted to
single-color Aerostars. 1992 also marked the introduction of plastic wheel
Other changes were made as Ford introduced new safety features to the
Aerostar. The interior received a major redesign as Ford added a driver
airbag as standard equipment; 3-point seatbelts on all outboard seats were
also added. With the addition of the airbag, Ford took the opportunity to
make major changes to the dashboard. The design and layout of the controls
was changed to improve ergonomics, while the gauge panel, climate controls,
and other minor controls (wipers, headlights) were replaced with parts
common to other Ford vehicles. The gear selector for the automatic
transmission moved from the floor to the steering column; a floor console
with cup holders and a coin holder took its place. In Aerostars with analog
instruments, a digital odometer was added. The placement of the radio
controls stayed the same, but the faceplate was updated from the mid-1980s
As with the 1986-1991 model, the Aerostar was offered in a cargo van and
three different trim levels for the 7-passenger minivan. The XL, XLT, and
Eddie Bauer were carried over. An exception is 1997, the final year; all
versions except the XLT and the cargo van were discontinued. The standard
engine for second-generation Aerostars is the 3.0L Vulcan V6 with the
option of the 4.0L Cologne V6. All-wheel drive was continued as an option
through the end of production

Ford should have made a V8 Aerostar. I got 5 mpg better than the 2.8L V6
5-spd, it sounds better, and its more fun to drive (power). Sitting 1 ½
inches lower with large swaybars made it handle like a car. I've had A LOT
of fun with this van, now it's time for a change. If you ever get a chance
to be part of the Hot Rod Power Tour I highly recommend it. It doesnt
matter if you do the long haul or just one venue, you wont regret it or
Aeropar, the Ford Aerostar with the 318 Dodge V8 in it does a quick flyby.

V8-Powered Ford Aerostar
This is a little project my Dad and I cobbled together as a way to find a
use for a spare 318 we had, and a the rolling chassis of a 92' Aerostar
after it's stock V6 bit the dust. Unless I'm mistaken, it's the only
Mopar-powered Ford minivan in the world. We've taken to calling it the

Smashing up a bunch of cars in a field. Some sweet jumps and crashes near
the end. Watch for the General Lee Neon , the #43 Petty Intrepid Superbird,
and the Messershmidt 109 Mercury Topaz. A great way to spend the day, for

ford aerostar vulcan start
first start since last time in about 3 months. The van is 94 and has about
270k km, and was not driven for about 3 years, I start it and let it idle
for 5-10 minutes every 3 months.
