1938 Buick Special Convertible Dynaflash Straight Eight Engine - Rumble Seat
I thought you'd like a look at this very original 1938 Buick Special
Convertible. This beauty is powered by the original and super smooth
Dynaflash straight eight engine, which is backed by a 3 spd manual trans.
This car is also equipped with the always desirable rumble seat out back.
In addition to the rumble seat, there is also a separate trunk space for
the spare tire and luggage. This car looks just like it would have back in
the late 30's...it really is a rolling piece of sculpture. I hope you find
it interesting...thanks for watching!

With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from
Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together
as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to

1941 Buick Roadmaster 4door Convertible Grn
An amazing car, beautifully restored! This car was definitely
luxurious...one of the last four door convertibles that would be built
until Lincoln got back in the business in the 60's. Frazer did build one in
1951 in a last gasp to save the make.
Notice the beautiful dash and steering wheel...genuine works of art!
Shapes were symmetric on the dash, seemingly an art deco influence. The
turn signal lever was placed on the right side of the steering column..and
it lit bulbs in the parking lamps and center signal light in the back.
1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertible - Beautiful and Classy! - SOLD!
Roadmasters were the top of the line Buick in 1948 and this Buick
Roadmaster Convertible is no exception. These cars were known for their
interior luxury and quiet operation and there were few other cars like them
of that era.
Powered by a 320.2 cubic-inch, Buick Fireball valve-in-head Dyna Flash 8
with a power rating of 144-150 hp, it also has a Dynaflow transmission.
The Dynaflow was the first passenger car torque converter transmission.
The sleek styling of these particular two-doors elicited an emotional
response from the motoring community that surpassed the expectations of GM.
In 1948 a series script appeared on the front fenders, the steering wheels
were changed to black in order to match the instrument panel and the
convertibles acquired power windows, seat and top as standard equipment. It
also skirts and curb feelers.
If you want a seriously beautiful car, this 1948 Buick Roadmaster really
speaks for itself. Come and see it—you will not be disappointed!

1947 Buick Super 4 door Sedan Blk
Just to show you that Buick had a very nice family sedan available post
war. Notice how nice the fabrics are, surely long wearing, and the
bilateral symmetry of the dash..notice the clustering on both sides of the
radio speaker. Notice also that the turn signal stalk is on the right side
of the steering column, next to the gearshift. The pedal operated parking
brake is interesting too, most parking/emergency brakes were of a pistol
grip type at this time. Dynaflow would not be available until the 1949
Buick - History Documentary (1995)
This video is a wonderfully-done documentary, written and produced by
Michael Rose, on the history of Buick as presented in 1995 from the History
Channel's archive. Here is Michael's description of the video verbatim:
"No one would have believed that the tinkering of a plumber would turn into
the foundation of the world's largest corporation. But it did. David Dunbar
Buick invented a process to adhere porcelain to tubs and other bathroom
fixtures. But the Scottish immigrant dreamed of making a mark out of the
bathroom, and set to work building a car. By 1900, he enlisted the aid of
another inventor, Walter Marr, and they built their first vehicle. Their
invention attracted the attention of one of Michigan's wealthiest men,
William Crapo Durant, the president of the world's largest buggy-building
business. As soon as he drove one of Buick's early creations, Durant
realized that the days of the horse and buggy were over. He teamed up with
Buick, and the two went on to make history. By the thirties, Buicks were
regarded as some of the finest cars ever made. From the first Buicks
through the birth of General Motors and into history, this is the
compelling story of the partnership that eventually became the basis for
the largest company in the world."
