Sleek, aerodynamic racecars driven by daring young men captivated the world of motorsports in the 1930's. At the top of the heap were the cars of Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz. Their futuristic machines dominated the tracks of Europe and transformed what the world thought a racer should be. Unfortunately, their exploits were pushed off the stage by World War Two. We are now just rediscovering the stories of the legendary cars called the Silver Arrows. This film produced by Audi in 1992 takes a look at the cars and drivers of Auto Union. Their most famous driver, Bernd Rosemeyer had been a motorcycle racer for the DKW team, which was part of Auto Union. His natural talent was spotted as he effortlessly won races.
