Joe Hawkins - 598 BBC - Dyno pull #2
598 Pro Bracket Drag Racing engine for Joe Hawkins was extensively Dyno tuned and gotten fixed up
to make the engine be a killer. 4.5" crank w/a 4.600" bore makes up the
cubes 14.75:1 compression as well as a good set of 360cc properly race
prepped heads with those massive Manley 2.3/1.88 stainless steel valves
Eagle 4½" crank and 6.800 4340 steel rods rounds out the rotator all
internally balanced as well as a customer supplied Jesel Belt drive system
to keep everything in time nice and neatly.
Killer roller cam installed to compliment the engines ability to make power
from 4800 all the wall to 7000rpm.
the was an engine we sold and the customer had some parts he wanted to use.
We used them and all turned out very well.
454 big block Chevy engine dyno runs
The 454 that's in my El Camino did some Dyno runs the same day as the
Chevelle engine. This one is a bit milder and peaked at 505 hp and 555
lb/ft. Yes it has Brodix heads, but it also has a tiny little hydraulic
roller and dual plane intake. The nice thing about the Brodix heads is if
I ever want to put a real cam in this engine, the heads can handle it.
