SOL Rally Barbados 2013 - Bushy Park Esses & Post Event Lime

Rally Barbados is the largest motor sport event in the Caribbean. This video shows the nearly 90 teams of drivers and navigators making their way along the Padmore Village to Golden Grove stage as they make their way through the esses at Bushy Park. The video ends with the post race lime which happens immediately after this last stage where fans get to meet their favourite teams, have a drink with them and take some photos.

Rally Barbados 2012 King of the Hill - Racing Action
A week before the main all stages rally of Rally Barbados, the King of the Hill event was run not only to seed the drivers but also to give the teams and spectators a taste of things to come. This video follows up the prelude to the King of the Hill event and contains many of the 101 teams which were entered, and includes comments from drivers and others. Cars are shown in their running order from lowest to highest groups.

Part 2 coverage of the Barbados leg of the 2012 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) of Team Jamaica and Team Cayman Islands. This video features the first and second races of the day with post race interviews with team members. Round 1 of the CMRC championships is held at the Dover Speedway in Jamaica while Round 3 is held at the South Dakota Circuit in Guyana. The WRC was formerly held for Group A and Group B rallycars. However, due to the increasing power, lack of reliability and a series of fatal accidents on the 1986 season, Group B was permanently banned. Later, in 1997, the Group A cars evolved into the WRC car spec, to ease the development of new cars and bring new makes to the competition. In 2011, new rules were introduced to encourage more manufacturers (and privateers) to take part, because the recent economic downturn had prompted several manufacturers to leave the championship. Cars in the Production Car World Rally Championship are limited to production-based cars homologated under Group N rules. Cars in the Super 2000 World Rally Championship are homologated under Super 2000 rules. Most cars in the Junior World Rally Championship are homologated under Super 1600 rules, but Group N and selected Group A cars can also contest the series. Starting in 2013,a new category of rally cars known as Group R were introdued as a replacement to the Group A and Group N rally categories, with cars classified under one of six categories based on their engine capacity and type, wheelbase, and drivetrain. As a result no cars will be homologated under Group A and Group N regulations and instead will be reclassified under Group R. Parallel to this, the Super 2000 and Production Car World Championships were restructured; Super 2000 and Group N cars were merged into a single championship known as World Rally Championship-2 alongside R4 and R5 cars, whilst the Production Car World Championship was completely reimagined as the World Rally Championship-3 for two-wheel drive cars complying with R1, R2 and R3 regulations. Welcome to Sol Rally Barbados In 2013, the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) is targetting yet another milestone in the 24-year history of its blue riband event. Over the past two years, 47 first-timers have carried the number of International competitors hosted since 1990 to more than 240, while Regional numbers approach 100 - the BRC hopes to move the International total past 250, and might even enjoy the added bonus of a combined total exceeding 350. From small beginnings, the BRC's premier event has grown into the Caribbean's biggest annual motor sport international and a key player in the country's sports-tourism product. The event contributes more than Bds $2.5 million to the island's economy each year, much of it in vital foreign exchange, and accounts for approaching 3,000 visitor nights at a traditionally quiet time in the tourism calendar. Since the first overseas competitors took part in the International All-Stage Rally in the early 1990s, nearly 30 countries have been represented, including six from the wider Caribbean, with Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago providing the best support. The biggest competitor base is the UK, but the event has attracted competitors from as far afield as Australia, Canada, Japan, Kenya, South Africa and the United States, as well as mainland Europe.
