The 2012 Honda Crosstour® approaches the crossover SUV formula from a distinctively sleek, sporty and fuel-efficient perspective while also maximizing the interior's cargo capacity, versatility and premium feel. The Crosstour's exterior design emphasizes a bold, aerodynamic look that also conceals an accommodating rear cargo area with a large, lift-over tailgate. Premium interior styling, appointments and details extend from the passenger compartment all the way through the cargo area. The engine produces 271 horsepower at 6,200 RPM and 254 lb-ft. of torque at 5,000 RPM, while achieving an EPA-rated city/highway/combined fuel economy of 18/27/21 mpg2 on 2WD models. Meanwhile the Crosstour EX-L with Real Time™ 4WD delivers an EPA-rated city/highway/combined fuel economy rating of 18/26/21 mpg. To maximize efficiency, the engine's VCM cylinder deactivation system is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on current power requirements, and a technologically advanced 5-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment. For true utility-vehicle capability, the Crosstour provides 6.2 inches of maximum ground clearance in addition to the available Real Time™ 4WD system. 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
The Dodge Charger SRT8® makes a return to the performance car market in 2012 bringing intelligent performance features and more power to the brand's iconic four-door fastback coupe. New for the 2012 Charger SRT8 is the 470 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 that features 45 more horsepower and 50 more lb.-ft. of torque across a significantly wider rpm range, new Exhaust system technology for improved fuel efficiency, along with new paddle shift technology and adaptive damping suspension for optimal driver control. Performance numbers for the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 include 0-60 mph acceleration in the high 4-second range; quarter mile in the high 12-second range; 0-100-0 mph in less than 16 seconds; top speed of 175 mph and stopping power from 60-0 mph in 120 feet. Under the hood, the new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 delivers 45 more horsepower and 50 more lb.-ft. of torque than the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 it replaces -- up 11 percent to 470 horsepower (351 kW) and up 12 percent to 470 (637 N•m) lb.-ft. of torque. Even with the elevated power numbers, an estimated 25-percent fuel economy increase on the highway is achieved by use of a new-for-2012 active valve Exhaust system that allows the standard Fuel Saver Technology (four-cylinder mode) to engage over a wider rpm range for improved efficiency or the use of all eight cylinders when the extra power is needed. The new active valve Exhaust system also allows for straight-through mid and rear mufflers for a throaty Exhaust note under engine load. The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 features an active intake manifold and high-lift camshaft with cam phasing to provide maximum low-end torque, including an additional 80 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm for strong standing starts while optimizing high-end power. The proven five-speed automatic transmission features new, standard steering wheel mounted paddle shifters that join the center console mounted Auto Stick, allowing for a choice of spirited shifting on both the road and the race track. Both methods give the driver the ability to manually select specific gears on the transmission. In "Drive," the transmission controller will automatically shift the vehicle. The aggressiveness of the shifting is defined by the mode chosen - either "Normal" or "Sport." Fully adaptive electronic control of all shifting makes the powertrain more responsive while minimizing harshness. In "Manual," the shift method is defined by the driver choosing to use either paddle shift or Auto Stick. The "Sport" mode adds a hold function to the calibration in all gears, allowing the driver full control of the shifting schedule.

Jeep Compass 2011
Offering unsurpassed 4x4 fuel economy and off-road capability in the compact-SUV segment, the new 2011 Jeep® Compass features a stunning new sophisticated design, with cues coming directly from the brand's premium icon, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Coupled with a host of interior refinements, and improved ride and handling characteristics in all conditions -- courtesy of upgraded steering and suspension systems -- the new Jeep Compass offers a unique blend of premium styling, capability, efficiency and value that is unmatched in the compact-SUV segment. The 2011 Jeep Compass' powertrain is designed to deliver world-class performance in all weather conditions, fuel economy and refinement, all at an affordable, value-packed price. Compass features a standard 2.0-liter World Engine for the Compass and Latitude models that provides 158 horsepower (117 kW) and 141 lb.-ft. (191 N•m) of torque coupled with the continuously variable transmission (CVT2), and delivers unsurpassed 23 mpg in the city, and 29 mpg on the highway when mated to the five-speed manual transmission. The proven 2.4-liter World Engine produces 172-horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque and is available on all models and standard on the Limited. This 2.4-liter World Engine has dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT) on both intake and Exhaust camshafts, which helps optimize the torque curve at all speeds and produces more power, better fuel economy and smoother, quieter operation than engines without dual VVT. Dual VVT is a technology typically not available on vehicles sold in the United States in the Jeep Compass' price class. The Jeep Compass' 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transaxle in front-wheel drive configuration delivers unsurpassed 23 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, and 29 mpg on the highway. Jeep Compass also features a standard five-speed manual transaxle on the entry-level Compass and a CVT that is available on the Compass and standard on the Latitude and Limited models. The Compass' CVT2 is a second-generation CVT that Chrysler Group engineers calibrated for pleasing engine response and precise ratio control. CVT2 contributes to a fuel economy improvement of 6--8 percent compared with a traditional four-speed automatic. The Compass CVT2 also improves vehicle performance compared with a traditional automatic transaxle because of optimized gear ratios, especially in the 30--60 mph range during passing maneuvers. The 2011 Jeep Compass also provides up to 2,000 lbs. of towing capacity.

► New 2012 Honda CR-Z MUGEN revealed
Development of the supercharged Honda CR-Z is on track, with performance figures already looking promising. Early tests with a prototype car based on a standard CR-Z and a mid-tune engine have given 0-60mph times around that of the Civic Type R. After a further 15 per cent increase in power over this 'stage 1' engine and with over 50kg reduced from the chassis, overall performance is set to meet MUGEN's original targets. "Early fuel consumption tests have also been encouraging," says Colin Whittamore from MUGEN Euro. "We've retained the three driving modes from the standard car and economy ranges from 50+mpg in 'eco' mode to mid-30 mpg when tapping into the supercharged power in a special 'MUGEN' mode."

2014 Honda Crosstour 3.5L V-6 Test Drive & CUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/honda/crosstour/?id=32972 The Honda Crosstour made its debut as a 2012 model and is essentially the hatchback wagon version of a Honda Accord. Now we get a revised version that includes a facelift on the outside, updates to the interior, upgraded technology, and a new Earth Dreams engine that is more fuel efficient and more powerful. The 2014 Honda Crosstour has a base price of $27,230. With over 20 models sold by Honda here in the U.S.; it's hard to understand why this vehicle exists But as sales have shown, there is a niche for this vehicle in the CUV segment. The Honda Crosstour is a great choices for a number of different car buyers including: families, couples with young children, and even retired people where an Accord or Camry isn't quite enough as they need that extra space out back but do not necessarily want to invest in an SUV or large CUV. Hence the Crosstour is the perfect vehicle. For the first few years of its existence, the Crosstour did not compete very well with other vehicles in this segment like the Toyota Venza or the Subaru Outback. But Honda has given this car a new lease on life with beefier looks, luxurious interior, and upgraded powerplant. The result is improved sales and a car that meets the needs of more people, perfectly. Under the hood lives an Earth Dreams V-6 engine that includes Variable Valve Timing and Variable Cylinder Management. The 3.5 liter V-6 engine makes 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque. Power is put down through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. There is also a less powerful 4-cylinder that averages a little bit better fuel economy. On the inside, the Crosstour has a very nice design. There are 2 screen located in the center console, one controls the navigation and while the other is for the radio. The 2014 Honda Crosstour is a good buy if need extra cargo space along with the reliability of a Honda. 2014 Honda CROSSTOUR REVIEW AND TEST DRIVE | Herb Chambers Honda
http://www.herbchambershondaofseekonk.com Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk 185 Taunton Avenue RT44 Seekonk, MA 02771 (508)336-7100 The Honda Crosstour was introduced for 2011 as an offshoot of the Accord, but then became a model of its own. It's been left behind by the Accord, which began a new generation for the 2013 model year, while the Crosstour continues to ride on the old Accord's platform, which dates back to 2008. However, the 2013 Crosstour received extensive updates to the styling and interior that mimicked the new Accord. Nothing has changed for the 2014 model year.
