Porsche 911 991 Carrera 4S 2013 - acceleration 0-285 km/h + Vmax test
Very fast till 250 km/h, then the dynamics is worse than in the case of previous 911 997. The car is not even able to reach more than 285 km/h GPS going extremely downhill, claimed 297 km/h top speed is unreachable anywhere. This is undoubtedly due to the higher downforce on front axle - it is fine for manoeuvreability in high speeds, but the awesome dynamics of 911 from 250 to 300 km/h is gone... Porsche 911 (991) review - CarBuyer
Read the full review here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/porsche/911/coupe/review One of the longest running sports cars in existence, the latest Porsche 911- code-named the 991, will go on sale in the UK from December 2011. Featuring a lower roof, more bulbous headlights and sharper tail-lights the front track is also wider, improving handling. The engines have received several tweaks too. The standard Carrera's 3.6-litre flat six cylinder engine is replaced by a smaller 3.4 that is more efficient but produces more power, at 345bhp. The 3.8-litre found in the Carrera S now produces 394bhp. Performance when fitted with the PDK twin-clutch gearbox and optional Sport Chrono Pack is very impressive. The standard Carrera sprints from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds whilst the Carrera S can nail the benchmark in just 4.1 seconds. The interior has received a major makeover that is inspired by the Panamera, but with fewer switches. Most owners will opt for the PDK gearbox but Porsche also offer a seven-speed manual option - the first of it's kind in a production car.

2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/911/2012/ The Porsche 911 recently got a thorough refresh for the 2012 model year. This is the 7th generation of 911 to hit the American car market. Since the 1960's Porsche has been known to produce some of the fastest sports cars the world over. But in recent years the Porsche brand as combined high end luxury with their 911 sports car. There are literally 18 different models of the Porsche 911 for the 2012 model year with the base price Carrera costing $79,000 and the top of the line turbo S with the PDK transmission costing $172,100. But the model reviewed here costs about $105,000. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque. There are 2 different transmission choices available; the first is a 7-speed manual gearbox that features a long ration 7th gear to help aid in fuel economy, and the second transmission is a 7-speed PDK is a double-clutch gearbox that can change gears within milliseconds. Fuel economy is 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has some great fuel saving technologies. First with the PDK transmission, the 911 has what is called coating mode which essentially drops the RPMs to less than 1k so that the car uses less fuel. There is a start-stop system which shuts the engine off while stopped. This technology is commonly found on hybrid vehicles. For this new refresh Porsche made many styling changes. But you can rest easy know the same basic body style that has remained over the past couple of decades is still quite evident. This 7th generation Porsche 911 Carrera is a bit wider with the wheel base getting stretched by 4 inches. With those new dimensions, the 2012 Porsche 911 now has a much better ride. At the rear of the car are newly designed taillights featuring LED lights. As mentioned earlier, the new direction Porsche is taking is to integrate the best luxury amenities and materials as possible into their sports cars. The 911 is no exception as it benefits from great 18-way adjustable seats, an Alcantara headliner, as well as premium materials covering most surfaces in the cabin. Safety wise the Porsche 911 has a handful of front and side impact airbags that feature a two-stage impact system. The bags partially inflate in minor accidents and fully inflate for serious accidents thereby minimizing discomfort for the passengers in slower fender benders. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a luxurious sports car that can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in the low 4-seconds range. The 911 has all the creature comforts and technological gadgets you could ever want. And to top it all off this is one great looking sports car.
