1965 Chevrolet Corvair Turbo 4 Speed
Yes, they made these with turbos. It's
an air cooled, rear engine, FLAT SIX with a honkin' turbo on it. It's a 4 speed, too. Car has been
repainted and is owned by the same fella who ordered it. Today, you can
order "packages" that either have what you want - or what you'll have to
buy from only the aftermarket. I'm not a Corvair fan, but this one is
certainly different and deserves it's due on YouTube. I was right on the
year, wrong on the no. of cylinders - it is a flat 6 and I've corrected
this info above. Taken at Abingdon, MD Lowes 9/16/2011.
1966 Corvair Monza
I picked this car up while trying to buy a Corsa instrument cluster from a
guy's parts car. His wife wanted this one off of the driveway and the parts
car out from the side of the house and she was a VERY motivated seller. I
originally sprayed the front of the car red to head off some surface rust
and ended up brush painting it flat black but you can see some red above
the headlights where the black's flaked off. Needs a pitman arm bushing in
the front end, steering box rebuild, and sort out the fuel system issues to
get it back on the road. As with my Newport and Corsa convertible, neither
the car nor any parts are for sale.
1967 Corvair Monza-Custom.wmv
If you are in the market for something unique then here it is. Not only is
the Corvair model not something you see everyday but this one has been
customized to look more like your Camaro muscle car than a classic
cruiser. The 4 door Monza body is very straight and has no damage. It had
multiple custom features that really set it apart from just an average
Corvair. It has a spoiler in both front and rear which along with the
bumper were all custom molded in. It is coated in a cool Bolero Red with
custom White SS stripes. The door handles on the car have all been shaved
to give it a very sleek appearance. Electric door poppers are in place and
are some of the best ever produced. They were actually made for a Brinks
armored car so you know they are strong. The front doors as well as the
hood are remote operated with a key chain to give you access to the inside.
If you happen to loose this key it is no worries because a hidden switch
has been added. In the front spoiler are custom inset turn signals which
work like new....Check out www.classicalgasmotors.com for more information!

1966 Corvair Corsa Turbo.avi
Sorry for the shaky camera work.
This is a Canadian built car. One of 141 turbo coupe's built in 1966. This car was found
just a few weeks before this video was taken. It was in a garage where it
had been stored since the 1980's. At this point it had been washed once,
fluids changed, breaks replaced along with a dual chamber master cylinder
installation. This is a work in progress but I'm having a blast driving it
while I fix it up.
The Corvair community as a whole has been really great in answering my
questions and helping me out.
