Very First Crank Original 1980 Trans Am. Has Been Sitting For 20 Years, Survivor/Project
I purchased this TA not knowing what was going to work if anything. I put a
new battery in it, made sure it had oil, put transmission fluid in it. Put
gas in the tank. Had to put gas down the carburetor first to prime it. It
started right up and sounded great, Transmission seems to be working
properly. Guages work, radio, exterior and interior lights work, clock
works. everything seems to work except on window, Car does not smoke. This
car is totally all original.. After this video, we found out the car had 3
bent and one broken pushrods, and she still ran..
1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am runs NMRA/NMCA Hotchkis Autocross
Here is my car at the first ever NMRA/NMCA autocross put on by Hotchkis.
In this video, I run a 37.9, but hit a cone. A moment after hitting said
cone, I bump heads with my passenger. (0:42)
My cousin was nice enough to give up one of his autocross runs so he would
have time to film this. Please don't complain about camera shaking and

2010 Run to the Coast - 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Autocross
Here my Trans Am runs the autocross at RTTC 2010. This felt like my
quickest run, but as luck would have it, there was some error with the
timing so the run did not count. Note that the car shifts out of first
gear; the transmission decided it no longer wanted to use 1st gear past
2500 rpm that day, which greatly hindered acceleration.
