MGB chasing black ferrari
Charity day at castle combe. Ferreri driver cant handle an MGB being faster. On seeing the MGB about to
overtake he suddenly dives into the pit lane. Makes me Laugh! Had my
friends 8 year old son in the car he thought it was great. Well done Ben.
First drive of the LS1-powered MGB GT!
A big day! The MG came out of the garage for the first time in nearly two
years. This is just a "let's make sure it all works" drive. The power
steering pump was a bit low on fluid, thus the moaning noise. The brakes
were a bit soft but worked - you can see me checking them as I bring the
car out of the garage the first time.
And yes, there was a good burnout that didn't get caught on camera.
The car is a 1972 MGB GT that's been fitted with the engine and
transmission from a 1998 Camaro Z28. It's packing
somewhere between 350 and 400 hp, has a 6-speed T-56 transmission and a
Positraction rear. The front suspension runs on a custom frame and is
modeled after a Miata, the rear is a custom three-link setup. At the
moment, the car weighs less than 2000 lbs.
Please note that while the radiator looks low, it actually fit behind the
MG Special Tuning airdam that is not fitted. It's since been replaced with
a more efficient radiator that isn't quite as deep, mostly for better

The new Rover V8 in my MGB - Starting for the first time
So, after a year or so I have finaly inserted a new V8 in my MGB. This
video show the very first (and successful) attempt at starting the new
engine. After 7 years on the road, the original engine's block cracked 1
month before I retired and moved to Lyme Regis in July 2007. I've never
performed anything major like this before, so this was a big and anxious

Driving the LS1-powered MGB GT
The almost-finished LS1-powered MGB GT on the road! The car is a 1972
chassis that's been rebuilt from an almost-bare shell. Power comes from a
lightly modified 5.7l LS1 V8 from a 1998 Camaro Z28, running through a T56
6-speed transmission and a Positraction rear end. The front runs a
custom-built frame with Miata suspension and steering. The rear is a GM
axle with a custom three-link suspension. The body was widened using steel
flares from a Rabbit, and has been massively reinforced underneath to
handle the power and torque. It's not quite reassembled after the paint
job, there's a bit of chrome missing along with the fenders.
All the work was done in my home garage on jackstands, including the paint.
It took about two years to build the car.
