MGB Movie

First drive of the LS1-powered MGB GT!
A big day! The MG came out of the garage for the first time in nearly two years. This is just a "let's make sure it all works" drive. The power steering pump was a bit low on fluid, thus the moaning noise. The brakes were a bit soft but worked - you can see me checking them as I bring the car out of the garage the first time. And yes, there was a good burnout that didn't get caught on camera. The car is a 1972 MGB GT that's been fitted with the engine and transmission from a 1998 Camaro Z28. It's packing somewhere between 350 and 400 hp, has a 6-speed T-56 transmission and a Positraction rear. The front suspension runs on a custom frame and is modeled after a Miata, the rear is a custom three-link setup. At the moment, the car weighs less than 2000 lbs. Please note that while the radiator looks low, it actually fit behind the MG Special Tuning airdam that is not fitted. It's since been replaced with a more efficient radiator that isn't quite as deep, mostly for better cooling. For more information: http://www.slowcarfast.com

MGB GT V8
Just back after rebuild. Very happy to be back out on track. 2nd on first outing.

MGB V8 0-100mph
NONE of this is full throttle and all soft shifting... while juggling camera and hat and a hard right hand curve. Think car is good for 130+ with 4sec 0-60 once broken in. Here just got new oil (Brad Penn) and she's at 200 miles since new Rover aluminum 4.6 ?300HP? .During the agonizing seven years it took to get this car back from the engine/suspension whiz who said it would take a year or less (constant excuses) to finish, I kept telling him "you gotta complete it - my health is deteriorating" but IMHO he didn't listen/care. It is a wonderful car but with recent twin charcot feet and other disabilities I have to sell it, unable to safely drive it anymore. See www.FAAEZTEST.com.

330bhp MGB V8 v 540bhp Evo @ Silverstone Trax 2012.f4v
330bhp MGB V8, (980kg) Having fun with a very fast 540bhp (1200kg) evo. First test of my new rear wing and front splitter. Very Positive results. Fast turn oversteer has been virtually eliminated while top speed is hardly affected. I can carry more speed in the turns without the back end stepping out. The evo has a lot more straight line speed so was impressed with my little MGB. Oh and Gavin was slowing me down in the passenger seat LoL. Impressed with overtaking the Noble, that thing should fly. I could have dived down the inside of the little Vauxhall but decided to just let him know I was there by showing a front wheel, so was dissapointed when he blocked me down the straight.

The new Rover V8 in my MGB - Starting for the first time
So, after a year or so I have finaly inserted a new V8 in my MGB. This video show the very first (and successful) attempt at starting the new engine. After 7 years on the road, the original engine's block cracked 1 month before I retired and moved to Lyme Regis in July 2007. I've never performed anything major like this before, so this was a big and anxious moment.

Did my own engine conversion on my 1970 MGB GT. Installed a Mazda 13B. (Would like to put it up against a MGB v8 some day...)

1968 MGB Roadster Test Drive in Sonoma Wine Country
Visit http://www.leftcoastclassics.com/1968-mgb-roadster/ to see this 1968 MGB Roadster for sale from Left Coast Classics in Sonoma California. Solid 1968 MGB Roadster for sale, just one owner until a year ago. Owned from new by a couple in the Bay area until purchased by my client earlier this year. The original owner worked at an MG dealership. It was his wife's car and only used for local drives in their home town. The car starts; runs and drives beautifully with smooth shifting, tight suspension, excellent brakes and clean running quiet motor with plenty of oil pressure. Truly amazing to find such an original gem. Incredibly original and unaltered, right down to the emissions equipment on the engine. Lovingly cared for. The only modifications are period speakers installed in the rear bulkhead and an electric cooling fan added to the radiator. Drives with a tightness and originality that you don't find on restored cars. Has had one repaint of it's original primrose on a razor straight, absolute rust-free body. The wheels still bear the factory paint and car has a vintage Amco convertible top. Frame bag is included. Nice chrome, trim, glass and even the original leather in beautiful condition. Also includes both original issue black license plates. Take a look at all the details as well as full photo gallery at the link above and then give me a call with your best offer.
