More on our blog: www.vette59.com!
After a not-so-long-and-cold winter the project moves ahead. The new
pistons, rings and rod bearings are installed and checked by Katharine and
her dad, while rebuilding the 283 small block for their 1959 Corvette.
The Ultimate Small Block Stroker Engine Build -- Part 4
To see this engine running on the Dyno, check out Part 5 here:
The fourth video in a series building a big inch stroker motor. We're
cramming 427 cubic inches into a small block Chevy with all off-the-shelf
parts. This time we're installing the valve train, intake and and ignition.

Supercharged 283 chevy
283 supercharged sbc .030 over, 12% overdriven, Rhs heads, Lunati solid
flat tappet 632 lift, balanced, forged, two 600 holleys. Engine has to be
partly taken apart later to be painted and finish polishing, just wanted to
hear it, while I am getting my 57 chevy ready. I also have a 458 c.i. set
up like this small block but gas will be a little cheaper besides this
little fast reving sbc sounds really kool, I think I am going to like it.
Engine built by G&M Automtive, Thanks Mikey.
1965 Corvette 327 Motor / Carburetor to Oil Pan Complete & Original 300hp / 360ft. lbs.
This motor was pulled from a 1965 Corvette with 82,000 original miles

odometer). The details are 175 to 185 psi compression all the way around,
new gaskets top to bottom, 45psi oil pressure at 800 rpm idle & 70 psi at
2000rpm. I have internal "scope" images & video of motor also. This was
absolutely well maintained and cared for properly. Motor is located in SW
FL and on a stand ready to fire up complete with water cooling. Block
Casting number 3782870 clock=4, date code May 15 1965. Head casting
numbers: Left bank 3872461, clock=3, date= May 15, 1965 Right bank 3872461
clock=1, date= May 11, 1965. The block suffix code is FO5I7HR indicating
this motor was originally installed in a 1965 Corvette with a 2 speed
powerglide transmission and A/C as high performance 300HP w/ 4 bbl
carburetor & 10.5:1 compression. Has original carter 4 bbl carb, mechanical
tach drive distributor, intake manifold, valve covers, flexplate etc. About
as complete and unmolested as will ever find. This motor is rarer than hens

Dyno-Tuning the Draguar's 696 Horsepower Supercharged Small Block Chevy! - HOT ROD Unlimited Ep. 35
It's time for motor mayhem! On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited we head to
Westech Performance Group with Mike Finnegan to Dyno-tune a new engine for the
Draguar, the 1974 Jaguar XJ12 with a small-block Chevy under the hood that
he and Freiburger bought for $1,000 and installed a Supercharger onto in a parking lot during episode
7 of Roadkill. After the Supercharger
upgrade the guys road-tripped the dilapidated car from San Francisco to
Sacramento for a drag race. With the summertime air temps hovering around
113 degrees, the worn out 350 overheated and Freiburger only managed to run
a 15.30 ¼ mile ET at Sacramento Raceway.
Looking for redemption, Freiburger ordered a new 383ci long block from
Blueprint Engines, a definite upgrade over the old powerplant. Though the
new longblock is only rated to 600hp it features forged pistons and rods
and a forged crankshaft, which means that the guys can turn up the Boost and make double the power of the old
engine. The engine effortlessly made 650hp with 91 octane fuel in the tank
but Finnegan was feelin' froggy so he added 118 octane race fuel and upped
the Boost to 15 psi in an attempt to
make 700hp with the 383. Did the engine leave the Dyno shop in one piece? Check
out the video to see!
The engine we used is a BluePrint Engines' 383 Long Block designed for
