Tiburon GT vs. Scion tC vs. Aura XR
Went to meet a guy to sell him something and decided to setup a run. He's
been wanting to run his 07 Scion tC (160hp) against mah Tibbay (172hp) for
a while now. I told a another buddy of mine and he wanted to bring out his
new DD to hav fun; an 07 Saturn Aura XR (254hp), very nice car.
All 3 cars are bone-to-tha-muthafkn-stock as can be. Hopefully I'll be able
to mod the Tib in the near future though. In case you can't tell from the
vid the Aura stays even with me from a 25mph roll (I pull 1/2 car a head
when we do a 30mph) and then pulls me by 1/2-1 car above 90mph. I also beat
the tC in every scenario, even the last one where I had a bad launch. Enjoy
the video (and yes that song was put in there for shits and grins cuz these
aren't 800hp Supras racing so they don't deserve cool music).
1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T
Well I've decided to sell my long and never ending project. I've owned this
car since 98' and have garage kept it pretty much 98% of that time. This
car has never been in an accident and has a clean title. I'll even say this
is probably one of the nicest DSM's in the nation, definitely one of the
cleanest. I've taken time to do exactly what I wanted to the car. That
includes powder coating almost every piece under the hood (gloss black) or
polishing. Tons of attention to detail was used on this car. It will make a
great street/strip car as the only eliminations are A/C and cruise control.
Honestly I can't even remember everything that is done but the list below
is what I do remember.
1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Silver Minden Pearl
52,028 miles on chassis
207 miles on motor (true 2.0 4G63T) using only Brad Penn oil
The car made 418.3 WHP and 293.2 tq at 20 psi on a Dyno Dynamics loaded Dyno also known as the "heart
break" Dyno. You can
add 20-25% to that number and get what a Dyno Jet would read. There is a
lot more in this car, and I was looking making 500+ on that same Dyno, but found out the single
walbro fuel pump wasn't enough. The car hasn't seen the track since 2001,
so this current setup has yet to be abused.

2003 Saturn Ion that won't start in cold weather
Documenting my attempt to use a fix I found on the internet to resolve an
issue that plagues 2003-2004 Saturn Ions. The models in this year can have
difficulty starting in cold weather. At first it was pretty sporadic for
me but this year it was almost constant.
In the video I replace the ignition switch which actually ended up
resolving my problem. I guess there is a lubricant in this switch that
SHOULDN'T harden in cold weather but the ones that shipped in the cars of
these years do. Total cost $29.99 and about 30 minutes of time.
The specific symptoms you will see with this issue are (usually in cold
weather) you will try to start the car and it might crank a couple times
but then die. When you try to start it again you will hear a short fire
but then it stops. This is because the security system has kicked in and
shut off fuel to the vehicle for 10 minutes. After you wait 10 minutes you
can try to start it again. This cycle can happen multiple times (at its
worst I would have to go almost an hour of doing this).
Once you replace the part you may have to reset the security (passlock).
This is done by turning the key to start (but it won't) and then leaving it
in the run position until the lock light in the dash quits blinking (about
10 minutes). You then do this again (again waiting 10 minutes) and finally
a THIRD time (waiting another 10 minutes). After the third attempt you
turn the key to OFF and wait 30 seconds (this waiting is important I am
told!). It should then fire up.

A Saturn Aura that was at 75-80 Dragway on 4/30 for some reason, was able
to beat a Corvette Z06... because the Vette completely blew up first gear.
