1963 Monterey Pacific Grand Prix - Winner Dave MacDonald in Shelby King Cobra CM/1/63
Dave MacDonald runs Shelby King Cobra CM/1/63 to victory in the 1963 Monterey Pacific Grand Prix held October 20th at Laguna Seca Raceway. Against a field of world class international drivers, MacDonald won in impressive fashion as he finished 3+ laps ahead of everyone except 2nd place driver AJ Foyt. The victory gave Dave back-to-back Grand Prix wins in the two biggest & richest road races in America - the LA Times Grand Prix at Riverside and the Monterey Pacific Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. Carroll Shelby's Cobra movement was in full swing.

Santa Barbara Doug Hooper, Alligator, Eric Pohl Vette by Dave Hood
8mm Movies by David Hood of 1965 Santa Barbara airport sportscar races, The Campbell (owner) Kurtis Alligator #91 driven by Doug Hooper (Corvette Hall of Fame Driver) and the white corvette # 19 driven by Eric Pohl (Lt in the USAF) his 1st race. I believe the #19 Corvette was purchased from Doug Hooper. The last few frames show the Corvette going over a dike at the end of a long straight away. Eric over rev'ed the motor, the clutch blew and went through the master cylinder, no brakes and couldn't stop. Total'd the Vette and broke his leg. Eric went on to buy a Cobra. Cheetah #78 belongs to Jerry Entin.
