Crash Tests Show Impact of Size on Safety
Three front-to-front crash tests, each involving a microcar or minicar into
a midsize model from the same manufacturer, show how extra vehicle size and
weight enhance occupant protection in collisions. These Insurance Institute
for Highway Safety tests are about the physics of car crashes, which
dictate that very small cars generally can't protect people in crashes as
well as bigger, heavier models.
"There are good reasons people buy minicars," says Institute president
Adrian Lund. "They're more affordable, and they use less gas. But the
safety trade-offs are clear from our new tests. Equally clear are the
implications when it comes to fuel economy. If automakers downsize cars so
their fleets use less fuel, occupant safety will be compromised. However,
there are ways to serve fuel economy and safety at the same time."

Deutsche Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB5GTl9sxXs
We had a chance to attend at the debut of the all new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT
and GTS. The world premiere of the Mercedes new sportscar was held in
Affalterbach at the Mercedes-AMG Plant. Even though the Mercedes-AMG GT is
not really the successor of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, it is still a very
fine sportscar. We give you a short walk around of the car and feed you
with some numbers and details.

Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE Brake System Video - Kelley Blue Book
FOR PRICING & SPECS ON THIS CAR VISIT:
2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safety system. Mercedes-Benz has developed a new
safety system called PRE-SAFE Brake that is featured on the 2010 E-Class.
PRE-SAFE uses radar to gauge how close you are to traffic ahead, and if you
are going too fast to safely avoid a collision, it engages the brakes,
reducing the cars speed and likeliness of serious injury. Kbb.com's Beth
Lear-VanderYacht recently had the opportunity to put PRE-SAFE Brake to the
test with the help of Jochen Haab, Mercedes-Benz Manager of Technical
Support, Product Events Active Safety.
