Forgotten Volkswagen Single Cab
Forgotten Volkswagen Single Cab Took the Syncro for a Sunday drive and spotted an old single cab in the foothills outside Idaho Falls. This is nine hours worth of digging condensed into a 15 minute video. It had been sitting in a wash since 1967. It was buried under two feet of dirt but it's extremely rust free given the circumstances. The drop gates hadn't seen the light of day for 45 years. 1955 Buick Special Barn Find
The storage for some old vehicles has been lost, the property was sold, hence the barn must be cleared for the new owners. This '55 Buick was sitting the corner, minus rear wheels and axle shafts, we saw the differential gears were missing, hence the disassembled unit. The ceiling was low in the barn, thus we used the car dolly, after jacking up the rear end of the car carefully. With 1 tire completely flat (what a wrestling act!) and the other one pretty low, the car was finally coaxed out of the barn, into the light after umpteen years. Thanks to Josh showing up to do his chores and helping us to safely get the car back up the road by helping to secure the car tightly to the dolly, then using his Kubota tractor with the flashing signals to ward off cars speeding up the road. It was quite the setup we had pulling the car backwards, myself steering like an old hook and ladder firetruck to help the car around curves and turns.

This documentary gives a nice overview of the history of the volkswagen beetle. It contains unique footage of Ferdinand Porsche standing near a pre-war beetle. Before the war this was called the KdF Wagen. The documentary was broadcast by Discovery Channel in 2004.
