Barn finding a 1917 Chevrolet V8 and Classic Wooden Boat
Corky Coker found this very rare early V8 Chevrolet chassis and early 1950s
runabout in North Alabama. Finding them was the first challenge, now
getting them out of the basement of this old Chevrolet dealership is the
Chevrolet's first attempt at building a V8 in 1917 and 1918 put a
water-cooled overhead valve V8 on the road nearly 40 years before the
introduction of the legendary small block V8. The engine feature exposed
valve train components protected by a simple metal shield. The engine
cranked out a ground-pounding 36 horsepower. The Series D
Chevrolet that the engine was equipped in was a slow seller in showrooms
and quickly went out of production. This very rare example of a complete
Series D chassis was used as a showroom display at the now closed Word
Chevrolet in Scottsboro, Alabama for many years before going into basement
storage as seen here.
The Century Boat Company was started in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1926 and
was a leading builder of racing boats in the United States. The company
also built thousands of vessels for the US Navy during World War II, but it
was recreational runabouts and the larger cruisers that have been the
mainstay of the company ever since. The Century brand has changed hands
many time throughout the years, most recently being purchased back from
Yamaha and based in Dade, City Florida in the United States. This early
1950s boat was purchased new in 1953 by Jake Word and was enjoyed for over
a decade before maintenance forced the boat off the water into the basement
storage. The boat still bears it's most recent permit on the bow issued in
1962. This 19 foot runabout (likely a 'Resorter' model) is a classic wood
boat with a Continental six-cylinder engine that produces 125 horsepower.

Barn Find: Classic Porsche 912 Restoration -- /DRIVE CLEAN
Go to www.ammonyc.com to get the free Barn Find Assessment Checklist
Today's story is about a true barn find. The car in question is a 1966
Porsche 912, which was last registered 23 years ago. We discovered the car
thanks to our friend Roger Garbow, from Full Throttle Marketing. He had
received a call about the car's discovery and immediately forwarded the
info to us, here at Drive Clean. Address in hand, we turned our crews
around and headed-off to a northern region of Connecticut where we
unearthed and restored this classic car. Watch as we assess our find,
remove years of accumulated filth and grime, and initiate the paint
correction phase on this 912's "Irish Green" shell.
Forgotten Volkswagen SO-23 Split Window Camper Bus. 1961 VW Bus.
We got a call about a possible Forgotten Volkswagen Bus located in Mission
Viejo California. We started making plans to head down and check out the
bus. Original plans included the girls and I making a stop at Disneyland
and picking the bus up on our way home. The day before we planned to take
the trip we had some things come up that made it impossible for my wife and
daughters to come along on the trip. I had already committed to deliver a
car to Las Vegas and had made plans with the owner of the bus to stop by
that weekend so we did a 3 day trip down and back to pick up this bus.
Left Saturday night at 8:00 PM and arrived in Mission Viejo Sunday at about
noon. By 9:00 Sunday night I was ready for a break so we stopped in Primm
Nevada for the night and finished the last leg of the journey home Monday.
This old bus has sat since 1980 outside and was located very close to the
coast. It is very rusty and in pretty rough shape. This bus is very
fixable and worth being saved. Hope to have some updates on it soon.
Thanks for watching.

semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel vacuum-assisted mechanical drum

At first glance, this car looks like an armored limousine, with inch-thick
glass and carefully-drilled gun ports. On closer examination, however, it
gets more and more curious.
The Cadillac build records call it "Fltwd Limo," body style 6275, number
356, and indicate it was ordered by the Chicago branch on February 21,
1935. Painted Thessalon Green, it had black leather in the front
compartment and Wiese brown vogue weave broadcloth in the rear. Fitted with
six wire wheels, two of them in fender wells, it had a radio in the rear
compartment and a flexible steering wheel. There is a further notation
about "Special Fleetwood Body Order 310," the details of which are lost to
The online Cadillac Data Base, a meticulous compilation by historian Yann
Saunders, gives production figures for Style 6275 as nine in 1934 and just
seven in 1935, exclusive of those given suffixes as sedans, formal
limousines or limousines with increased headroom. The bodies were the same
as the flat-windshield limousine Style 6075, whose Fisher body tags they

It's always a good idea to buy a car off the Internet sight-unseen, right?
That's what a friend-of-a-friend of Roadkill did with the kustom Merc—and
maybe he made an even worse decision when he allowed Freiburger and
Finnegan to wrench on the thing and deliver it to him. This deal was set up
by a Roadkill fan, Jim Norman of Norman Vinyards in Paso Robles,
California. The road trip involves the '69 El Camino from Episode 4, The
Dog from Episodes 4 and 17, lots of burnouts with the guys from Hot Rod

AMAZING Edsel Barn Find, Rare Cars Parked and Left. Pacer Convertible, Rangers, Dodge Charger
5/4/14...Just saw this in person yesterday and it blew my mind. In what
can be best described as a 2000 sq ft litterbox, I opened this barn to find
almost 10 cars that seemed to have been parked 30 years ago...so tightly
that it was hard to get between them. The most amazing cars in the lot
were an Edsel Pacer Convertible, and a Dodge Charger. Both of these cars
appeared to have been in pristine condition when parked. The seller's
agent told me that they are in the process of removing the cars from the
barn and going though them in preparation for selling them. Amazing!!!
