The mid-sized SUV class features such vehicles at the Honda Pilot and the Hyundai Veracruz to name a few. The best part about the Outlander is the fact is has rugged good looks. The Mitsubishi Outlander carries the same front end style as the Lancer. The base price for the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander is $22,345. For this price you get a 7-passenger SUV that is powered by a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft, of torque. The small sized engine allows the Outlander to get great fuel economy numbers at 23 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. There is also a 3.0 liter V-6 engine available that has 230 horsepower and 215 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is also pretty good on the V-6 at 19 MPG in the City and 26 MPG on the highway.
