2012 Audi A4 allroad quattro facelift revealed

Audi has officially unveiled the 2012 A4 / S4 facelift. Looking more aggressive, the model adopts a new front fascia with a revised grille, restyled headlights and a modified hood. There's also a new diffuser, revised taillights and a dual Exhaust system. For a sportier appearance, the S-line package has reduced ride height and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers are optional). Inside, the cabin gains a new steering wheel, revised trim and additional chrome accents. Other changes include an updated infotainment system and buttons for the heated / cooled seats. Under the hood, a variety of engines are available. The 2.0 TDI has outputs of 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 163 PS (120 kW / 161 hp). Another four-cylinder diesel produces 120 PS (88 kW / 118 hp), 143 PS (105 kW / 141 hp) and 177 PS (130 kW / 174 hp). Last but not least, the 3.0 TDI develops 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp) and 245 PS (180 kW / 241 hp). On the petrol side, a new 1.8-liter TFSI produces 170 PS (125 kW / 168 hp) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. Other choices include a 1.8 TFSI with 120 PS (88 kW / 118 hp), a 2.0 TFSI with 211 PS (155 kW / 208 hp) and a 3.0 TFSI V6 with 272 PS (200 kW / 268 hp). Notably, the S4 has a supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 333 PS (245 kW / 329 hp) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 8.0 L/100 km (29.4 mpg US / 35.3 mpg UK). On the handling front, the car has a revised suspension and a new power steering system which "requires no energy for straight-ahead motion, thereby reducing fuel consumption by up to 0.3 L/100 km." The 2012 Audi A4 will go on sale shortly and pricing has "changed only slightly."

► 2012 Audi A4 Allroad OFFROAD
With its permanent all-wheel drive, the A4 allroad quattro is equally at home on road and off. It is somewhat larger, particularly in height, than the A4 Avant on which it is based. It offers 180 millimeters (7.09 in) of ground clearance, and distinctive design details underscore its powerful character. Here, too, the trunk holds from 490 to 1,430 liters (17.30 to 50.50 cu ft) of luggage. Optional features include a load-securing set and an electromechanical rear hatch. The Audi A4 allroad quattro is available with a choice of one gasoline and three diesel engines. The 2.0 TDI with 105 kW (143 hp) combines the recuperation system with the start-stop system. Like the 2.0 TDI with 125 kW (170 hp), it is available only with a six-speed manual transmission. The seven-speed S tronic is available as an option for the 2.0 TFSI and the 3.0 TDI.

New Audi A6 allroad Quattro
Audi has unveiled its new A6 Allroad. It's the third iteration of the taller-riding A6, which sits halfway between estate and SUV. It rides 60mm higher than a standard A6 Avant, and gets four-level adaptive air suspension as standard. As you'd hope, quattro all-wheel drive is fitted to all models. It also looks noticeably butcher than other A6s thanks to extended side sills, flared wings, a new grille and roof rails. Initially, there's three engine choices, all V6s, with one petrol-powered unit -- a 306bhp/325lb ft 3.0-litre TFSI, capable of 31.7mpg -- and two diesels, 201bhp/332lb ft and 241bhp/428lb ft tunes of 3.0-litre TDI, the most frugal of which tops 46mpg. All engines boast turbocharging and direct injection, and are linked to a seven-speed S-tronic twin-clutch gearbox. Expect an ultra-brisk A6 Allroad equipped with Audi's 309bhp twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 TDI at a later date, serving up a 5.6sec 0-62mph sprint via an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. The four-wheel-drive system is permanent and paired with torque vectoring, which brakes the wheels on the inside of corners to Boost traction. Audi's sport differential -- which varies power continually between the rear wheels during cornering -- is on the options list. The adaptive air suspension lowers the Allroad's body by 15mm at speed, and can jack it up by 35mm when rougher terrain approaches. There's also a hill descent control system for, you guessed it, downhill off-road driving. Inside, there's the usual plethora of Audi gadgetry on offer, with Bang and Olufsen sound, in-car WLAN internet access, radar-based cruise control and a self-parking system among the options. Expect a wealth of tech options box ticking to substantially add to the A6 Allroad's list price, though, the range starting at a very reasonable £43,145. UK sales begin in February, with deliveries in spring. Expect to see the A6 Allroad making its publich debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show in March.

New car Audi A6 allroad quattro
Audi A6 allroad quattro Now, Audi has just unveiled a new generation of the Audi Allroad, called the 2013 Audi A6 Allroad. Based on the C7 generation A6, the new 2013 Audi A6 Allroad continues with its original recipe. Power can come from a variety of V6s: one TFSI gasoline engine and three TDI turbocharged oilburners. The gas engine is the same 3.0L TFSI supercharged V6 that found its way to be the base engine in the A7 and the A6 here in North America, good for 310hp and 324 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to 60 in just 5.9 seconds. The three diesels all of 3.0L displacement and are all twin-turbocharged. The first diesel produces 204hp and 332 lb-ft of twist, the next makes 245hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, and the last mill churns out 313hp and a whopping 480 lb-ft. The most powerful diesel can thrust the new Allroad to 60 in just 5.6 seconds. The new Audi A6 Allroad will be available in Germany later this spring. Fans of the Allroad here will be disappointed to learn that it won't be making it to our shores, simply because we still have the Q5 and Q7 SUVs.

2011 Audi A8 - Drive Time Review
Drive Time review of the all-new 2011 Audi A8 by auto critic Steve Hammes

New AUDI A4 Limousine 2012 Driving Scene [HD] (Option Auto News)
New AUDI A4 Engines The new A4's drive system sets new standards. The consumption levels have dropped by 11 percent on average, despite the increased power and torque of many of the engines. In the Sedan and the Avant each, Audi offers any of six TDI and four gasoline engines, with 23 possible engine-transmission combinations. All engines are supercharged direct-injection systems; the start-stop system and the recuperation system are standard throughout. The TDI engines combine pulling power with pioneering efficiency, with the four-cylinder versions presenting extensive modifications. A new centrifugal pendulum-type absorber (in the 2.0 TDI with 100 kW, 120 kW or 130 kW with quattro drive) in the dual-mass flywheel makes engine running even more refined and quieter at low revs, for even earlier upshifting and savings of up to 0.2 liters per 100 km. The most economical variant in the model family is the Audi A4 2.0 TDI with 100 kW (136 hp). In the Sedan, this engine needs only 4.2 liters of fuel per 100 km (56.0 US mpg) on average -- a CO2 equivalent of just 112 grams per km (180.25 g/mile). The new A4 2.0 TDI with 120 kW (163 hp), also optimized for maximum efficiency, manages with 4.4 liters of diesel per 100 km (53.46 US mpg). This equates to 115 grams CO2 per km (185.07 g/mile). Both engines are available for the Sedan and the Avant. In addition, three other four-cylinder diesel engines are available -- with 88 kW (120 hp), 105 kW (143 hp) and 130 kW (177 hp). They can also be ordered for the allroad quattro, apart from the entry-level version. Three V6 TDI units complete the line. The 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) (not for the allroad quattro) is the most efficient six-cylinder engine in its class worldwide; in the A4 Sedan it consumes an average of just 4.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (48.0 US mpg). The second variant, the 3.0 TDI, generates 180 kW (245 hp), with an especially clean diesel version. The A4 series also presents the latest state of the art in gasoline engine technology. A new highlight of the TFSI family is the new 1.8-liter engine, available for the Sedan and the Avant. The four-cylinder engine delivers sporty thrust, with a power output of 125 kW (170 hp) and 320 Nm (236.02 lb-ft) of torque. The average consumption in the A4 Sedan is limited to 5.6 liters per 100 km (42.0 US mpg), or 134 grams CO2 per km (215.65 g/mile). That is a decrease in consumption of 19 percent compared with the predecessor engine. The new 1.8 TFSI engine features many innovations: in the control of its valves and their lift, in the novel thermal management system, in the fuel injection system, in the turbocharger and in the integration of the Exhaust manifold in the cylinder head. The engine weighs 3.5 kilograms (7.72 lb) less and its internal friction has sharply decreased. The entry-level gasoline engine is the 1.8 TFSI with 88 kW (120 hp). The 2.0 TFSI -- as the only spark-ignition engine also available in the A4 allroad quattro -- delivers 155 kW (211 hp). At the top of the line is the 3.0 TFSI in two variants. In the A4 the V6, to follow a bit later, affords 200 kW (272 hp). In the sporty S4 top model its power is an impressive 245 kW (333 hp).
