SpeedFactory Challenger in a Supercharged Dodge Challenger SRT8 Grudge Match Drag Race
Mopars at the Strip is an annual MOPAR car show and Drag Race event held at
Las Vegas Motor Speedway every year. In 2009 SpeedFactory attended and
displayed our 600HP supercharged SpeedFactory Challenger - the first modern
Challenger to be supercharged. Next door to us was a supercharged
Challenger built by CDC/Group 2. The inevitable occurred - and Rob Wolf,
editor of Mopar Collector's Guide, did a "Pinks" style start for the grudge
match on the 1/4 mile drag strip. SpeedFactory driver Eddie Rosa emerged
victorious with a 1/4 time of 12.374 seconds at 112.66 mph, beating the
other car by 4/10 of a second.
The SpeedFactory Challenger has the Stage 3 Supercharger package, featuring a Vortech Supercharger at 5.5 lbs Boost, Hotchkis handling package, Magnaflow
catback Exhaust, and SpeedFactory
Signature package. Installed options include Richmond 3.55 gears and Boze
Tach style forged wheels. Everything else on the car is stock 2008 Dodge
Challenger SRT8. As shown in the video, the Challenger was on street tires.
On drags, the SpeedFactory Challenger runs in the 11s.

Jay Leno's 1970 Challenger
Part of the success of the initial offering of the Challenger (it outsold
all pony cars that year except leaders Mustang and Camaro) was the multitude of
engine options available for the car. 1970 and 1971 would prove to be the
only two years of real performance for the car, as tougher emission
standards would require Dodge to take away many performance options by
1972. But in 1971, Challenger buyers could choose from nine different
engine options. In fact the only engine Dodge offered that was not
available for the Challenger that year was the smallest available, a 198
CID slant six-cylinder.
Instead, the standard engine for base model Challengers was a 225 CID slant
six that produced 145 horsepower. This could be
upgraded to a 318 CID V8 rated at 230 horsepower for $102 or a 275
horsepower 340 V8.
Performance driven R/T (Road/Track) models came standard with a 4-barrel
383 CID V8 that produced 335 horsepower (a 2-barrel
version of this engine also was available as an option for the base
models). All Challenger models also could upgrade to two versions of a 440
CID V8, one the "Magnum" producing 375 horsepower and one the
"Six-Pack" producing 390 horsepower. Topping them all
was the 426 Street Hemi, which was rated at 425 horsepower.
By 1970, it was clear that while pony car fans desired power, many did not
want to sacrifice luxury to fulfill their performance needs. The Firebird
introduced its Espirit luxury model in 1970, and the Mustang Grande had first appeared in
1969. Dodge offered Special Edition trim for those that wanted to make
their Challenger a little more luxurious. Appropriately branded the SE trim
package, Dodge marketed the luxury models as "the little limousine." The
package could be added to both the base and R/T models, and included a
vinyl roof, "honest-to-goodness real leather facings on the seats," and an
overhead console with door, fuel and seatbelt warning lights.

2009 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8 WITH NOWEEDS.NET EXHAUST DIVERTERS INSTALLED - HD
These are the results after installation of the stainless steel bolt in
WWW.NOWEEDS.NET electronic Exhaust
diverter system for the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Installation was done
on a stock SRT8 while still keeping the factory cats, resonators, mufflers,
and SOUND intact. This was filmed at Fairfax, SD. See 2010 Camaro video for more detail as
to how the installation is done as it was very similar. This is more of a
sound clip video- we will post an installation video later.

2009 SRT/8 Challenger with an awesome sounding and clean looking custom Exhaust system by Kinney's muffler shop.
This beast of a car now has a beastly Exhaust system that lets the car sound like it
looks! The rich and deep tone is provided by a set of Flowmaster Super 44
mufflers. The newer 44 design incorporates Flowmaster's Delta flow
technology that reduces the interior tone levels. Our system can come with
