Supercharged Cadillac Rezcalade EXT 10,000 Watt ZAPCO System
This is a project i finished back in 2006. It is Chickens '04 SMD Cadillac "Rezcalade" EXT. As seen in the pages of Truckin' Magazine September 2006. Click this link to see it http://www.http://stevemeadedesigns.com/home/smd_ink_truckin.php Its a long story, but basicly Chicken hit a curb so hard with this SUV, it folded the wheel like a taco (search "taco job 26" on youtube) and destroyed 2 wheels. They were out of production and we couldn't find replacements anywhere. It took about a year of us debating what to do next before i realized, like a dummy, that they are 3 piece 26's. That means as long as the center is good, the rim is fixable! I had both of the wheels repaired by my wheel guys at AZA ( http://www.azaforged.com ) So after replacing the wheels, i got him some new tires. Kumho Tires SUCK so i got Pirelli 30/26's for it. I also replaced all the rear batteries and the front one with a XS Power D3100 ( http://www.wccaraudio.com ) . The old alternators were removed and replaced with Mechman Alternators, 300 amps each. Also used was a new Gates HD belt - a MUST for multiple H.O. Alt situations. I tuned the system with the new DD-1 and for now, its back to normal. We plan on doing more, but only time will tell. The reason its being flatbedded, because i know someone will ask (yes, even after i said it twice in the video) is because i cant drive two cars by myself. Its easier for us just to call our boys at Tow Pro and transport it. For now, its back home, running nice, sounding good......and Chicken is happy. SOUND SYSTEM BASS makes Scrambled Eggs - 4 18's 30,000 watts
***Tremendous BASS 119*** More port destruction! This time i wanted to see if i could scramble some eggs, but i didnt want it all over my box, batteries and paint. So i went to the store and purchased some "ziploc" containers. I wasnt sure if i could trust them so i did a test run with packing peanuts first, just to see what would happen. After that, i determined that i would have to tape them shut. I tried both cracked and uncracked and both had the same result. Quick Liquification. Extremely LOUD and CLEAN Car Audio - 4 18's 30,000 watts on ROCK - DOWN II
**Tremendous Bass 116** I recently had a video go "viral" on the internet, and as usual, a lot of people who didnt know what they were looking at, think that my system only plays at full throttle and only rap music. Well i am here to tell you that sometimes, i do actually turn the music down and listen at normal levels. Its also well known, to those that know me, that i listen to rock, and a few other types of music as well. My system has 30 speakers in it. 26 of them are NOT subwoofers. I know it makes a lot of bass, but the mids and highs EASILY keep up with the lows. The camera mic makes it sound like everything is distorting but thats not the case in real life. Check out this demonstration of something different then you are used to seeing from me. The song is called "learn from this mistake" by one of my favorite bands DOWN. Battery Bank Replacement - (5) XS Power D3100 - 2004 escalade EXT
This is a "repair" on an older project that i did a few years back. Chickens "Rezcalade" EXT. Today i am replacing the rear battery bank with fresh batterys.The batteries were left unattended for a long time and they ended up dieing a slow and painful death. The batteries that were originally installed were 4 Hawker-Odyssey PC2150's in back and a yellow top Optima up front. I replaced all 5 batteries with the XS Power D3100's. The front was done a few months back but here i show you the process for the rear battery bank. NEW BEASTLY DC Audio 175.4 Four Channel Amp + EXTREME Woofer Excursion
Check out the new BEAST of a four channel amp, the 175.4 by DC soundlabs....almost 1000watts rms for your mids/highs, or whatever! Today i decided to toss this amp and the new DC Audio 2.0k (monoblock woofer amp) to my test bench and play with them a little bit. Of course i used my '91 Tercel since its great to use it for experiments. I also used one of my favorite little woofers, the Rusty Flowers Signature edition DC Level 2 10....and this little guy who is only rated for a few hundred watts, takes a BEATING. Towering 8 Foot Tall Towers Update 14 - In the Paint Booth (Primer / Bedliner)
Update #14 in a series of video's showing this project from concept to finish. I know it has been a while since i had an update but i made them too tall originally. They somehow ended up about 8' 2" which is too tall for my house and the 8' ceilings. I didnt want to remove the wheels and i was sort of bummed out about it. I also had wiring, sanding, sanding, and more sanding to do. It was hard to get back in the mood, i admit it lol! Also, because i was being sidetracked by the "hoopty" (see candy blue caddy on youtube) i just had more of a reason to put it on the back burner. Well, now for the past few weeks, i have been modding the wheel situation (went with smaller wheels) and as a result, they are now a whopping 7 feet 11 3/4" tall. I have been sanding my hands off getting prepped..... and now they are out for paint! I am hoping to have them by the weekend! See the previous 13 video's to understand how this all came to be! the system consists of: 2 crown xti 4000's (bass) and 2 crown 2000w amps..... The Towers EACH will have (8) 7" Ascendant Audio Carbon mids, (4) Morel Tweeters and 1 Ascendant Audio SMD 18" woofer. There is 2 18" Passive radiators in each tower to reinforce the LOW LOWS! Everything is all Actively crossed over, no passives at all. I use a DBX drive-rack for that..... this truck has been seen in pics and videos sitting still, i thought id make a video of what it looks like rollin.....and it does roll HARD. 2004 Caddy EXT sittin on 26" Lexani, they look like spinners but they arent....all Zapco amps, RE MT 15" subs, Rockford Fosgate Mids/highs....tons more, too much to mention here. Installed: 4 High Output 350+ Amp Alternators "SMD Spec" Mechman - 2001 Chevy Tahoe
as you may or may not know, i have decided to change alternator brands after many years of using the same manufacturer. The brand i had before was great, but i put these things through so much torture that the time came to replace some of them. This time i decided to try out some Mechman Alternators. Before they were built though, i wanted them painted to match my Tahoe. Matt at Mechman sent me the empty shells and i took them to my favorite painter Roy Devore at "Autobody Workshop" and had them shot. After that was done i sent them back to be put together. These things are MONSTERS!
